If you are not familiar with Blackboard, do not fear. Blackboard has some wonderful resources and tutorials to help you to build out the components of your course. Online Programs and Academic Partnerships is also here to help you as you have any design questions.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  1. Articulate how to get started and where to find various course components.

  2. Articulate the purpose and structure of the course.

  3. Articulate how students should progress through each module using an agenda at the start of each module.

  4. Create a professional and engaging self-introduction.

As you progress throughout this module, think specifically about how you will intentionally communicate to students how to progress throughout the course and individual modules.

COMPLETE 4: Design Module Activities in Blackboard

Using the Module Mapping Template you filled out in Module 3 of this short course, create the learning activities and assessments you planned for Module 1 of your course.

  1. Copy/paste the verbiage you crafted throughout the module mapping template to introduce and explain activities as you include them in chronological order throughout the module. For activities /assessments that will span multiple modules, you can use the same link to refer students to the activity throughout different modules.

  2. Draft your module introduction and agenda to include at the start of the module. A sample agenda is provided in the course template as a model for you to use if helpful. You may also use this module agenda guide to help craft your agenda.

  3. For further guidance regarding how to clearly communicate to students how to navigate the course, refer to the authoring resource to the left.
