My mission is simple: I want to inspire and empower my generation to take action against pollution and protect our water. Pollution affects everything, and clean water is essential for life. By spreading the word about the dangers of pollution, I’m working to reduce litter, promote clean water, and encourage everyone to take responsibility for protecting the environment. Through education, organizing community clean-ups, and teaming up with local leaders, my goal is to make a lasting, positive impact.
Cleaning up after ourselves is one of the easiest and most powerful ways we can help the environment. Whether it’s picking up one extra piece of litter in a park, on the beach, or along the road, that small action adds up over time. When millions of people do this, it reduces waste in our communities and ecosystems. Taking responsibility for our trash keeps it out of rivers, lakes, and oceans—where it can seriously harm wildlife, the environment, and even us.
Water pollution, especially from plastics and chemicals, is a major issue for our waterways. These pollutants can make water unsafe to drink, use for farming, or even enjoy during recreational activities. They harm aquatic life, causing suffering and sometimes even death. When the ecosystem is affected, the entire food chain gets thrown off—and people who depend on these waters for food or business. We can’t afford to ignore this.
The CDC reports that each year, 7.15 million illnesses in the U.S. are caused by waterborne pathogens. But this is preventable if we ensure access to clean water. Clean water is crucial for everything we do—hydration, digestion, and even getting rid of toxins in our bodies. It also plays a big role in reducing food insecurity and illness. Unfortunately, polluted water is already taking a toll, and the WHO predicts that by 2050, half the world’s population could lack safe water. We need to act now to make sure future generations don’t face major problems like disease, malnutrition, and displacement. I’m determined to help make sure that doesn’t happen.
Protecting our waterways is something everyone should care about. It’s not just about picking up trash; it’s about living more sustainably. We can all start by using less plastic, properly disposing of waste, and supporting stronger environmental laws. Getting involved with local environmental groups or organizing clean-up events at rivers and beaches with your friends can also make a huge difference. Small steps, when we all work together, can help keep our planet’s waterways clean and healthy.
Clean water is vital for human health and the survival of ecosystems—after all, 71% of our planet is covered in water. My love for sea turtles and the ocean is what motivates me, and I’m passionate about educating others—especially young people—on how we can all make a difference. I’m committed to taking action and rallying others to join the fight to protect our environment and water. Because, at the end of the day, without clean water, there is no life.
