Prepping Your Bike for the Trip
To make sure everything goes smoothly and your bike travels safely:
Remove your pedals before drop-off.
Some bikes may need their front wheels removed and seat posts lowered to fit in the van.
👉 Mark your seat post height so we can reset it for you later.
👉 If you’ve got electronic shifting or internal cables in your seat post, stick a note on your bike to let us know.
Take off any big bar bags or saddle bags.
Don’t leave your Garmin/Wahoo or any other fragile bits attached to your bike.
Stick a piece of tape with your name on your bike — saves a lot of guesswork at the other end!
Reminder: Please leave your bike in the Forge 1860 storage, packaged and ready to be loaded into a van. *See below for further detail.Â
*You provided your bike information on your Part 2 Booking Form. Adventure Cafe need this to apply for the ATA Carnet customs documentation. This allows us to transport your bicycles in and out of the EU. If you change which bike you will be taking, let Adventure Cafe know ASAP: info@adventurecafe.uk
It is your responsibility to ensure your bike is sufficiently protected for the journey in the van. If you are concerned about your bike, we would recommend using pipe lagging/bubble wrap to protect the frame and forks. While Adventure Cafe take exceptional care in transporting participant bicycles, Adventure Cafe do not accept responsibility for damaged bikes.
