Everything TableSnag keeps is stored inside your browser, in the extension’s own storage. Websites can’t read it.
Your settings (for example, whether merged cells are filled or left blank).
A table you are collecting across several pages, while you collect it. This is kept in the browser’s memory only (session storage), separately for each tab, and is cleared when you finish, clear it, close the tab or close the browser.
If you buy a license: your license key, its status and when it was last checked.
TableSnag does not keep a history of the tables you copy or download.
TableSnag reads a page only when you click its toolbar button, and only the tab you clicked it in. It then looks for tables and lists on that page, including in frames from the same website, so it can highlight them. The table or list you pick is turned into text for your clipboard or into a CSV or Excel file.
It doesn’t run on any website until you click the button, and it doesn’t read other tabs, your browsing history, or frames from other websites. When you use “Collect all pages”, it clicks the page’s own “Next” button for you, in the same tab, until the last page or until you press Stop.
When you activate a purchased license, and then about every 14 days to confirm it’s still valid, the extension sends your license key and the product ID to Gumroad’s license-verification service (https://api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify). That request is the only network call the extension makes. Like any web request, Gumroad also receives your IP address. Gumroad’s privacy policy applies to that request: https://gumroad.com/privacy. If you never buy a license, the extension makes no network requests at all.
The pages you visit and the tables you copy are never sent anywhere: not to us, not to Gumroad, not to anyone.
“Copy” puts the table on your clipboard. “Download CSV” and “Download Excel” create files on your own computer through your browser’s normal download. Nothing is uploaded.
No analytics, tracking or telemetry.
No accounts, sign-ins or cloud sync.
We do not collect, sell, rent or share your data.
No ads.
activeTab: lets TableSnag read the tab you clicked its button in, and only that tab, until you leave the page.
scripting: lets TableSnag add its highlights and panel to that tab.
downloads: saves CSV and Excel files to your computer.
storage: saves your settings, your license status and the table you’re collecting.
Access to api.gumroad.com: used only for the license check described above.
TableSnag asks for no other permissions.
Purchases are processed by Gumroad, Inc. TableSnag never sees or stores your payment details.
Clearing a collection removes it at once. Uninstalling TableSnag deletes everything it stored in your browser. Files you downloaded stay where you saved them.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
