Nicholas and the Pirate’s Treasure
Nicholas moved into a big, old house. Three hundred years ago, a famous pirate lived there. Inside, many things were broken. “I’ve got a lot of work to do,” Nicholas thought.
He painted the walls, fixed the stairs and changed the carpets. That was when he found the gold key. It was underneath the carpet in the living room. It looked very old.
“Wow, it must be the key to the pirate’s treasure!” Nicholas thought.
Nicholas searched all over the house. He was opening cupboards and looking behind furniture, but there were no hidden cupboards or secret doors. He searched around the outside of the house, and even on the roof, but he couldn’t find a keyhole.
Then Nicholas had an idea. He wrote a letter to the person who lived in the house before him. He asked her if she knew anything about the pirate, or the key, or a secret door. “If you help me, I’ll share the treasure with you,” he wrote.
A week later, an old woman came to his door. “Please come in,” Nicholas said. He offered her a drink and they sat down.
Then the woman took an old wooden box from her bag. It looked heavy and strong. She put it on the table. It had a big keyhole.
Nicholas stood up quickly. He was feeling very excited as he gave her the key. She smiled and opened the box.
Nicholas was looking for gold coins. But there was no gold inside. Instead, there was an old treasure map. The map showed the house and the garden, and there was a big red X near a tree.
Nicholas couldn’t believe it. While the old woman was explaining the map, he was already imagining the treasure in his garden.
The next morning, Nicholas was digging under the tree while the sun was shining. His hands were getting dirty, but he didn’t stop. Suddenly, his shovel hit something hard.
He opened the small wooden chest he had found in the ground. Inside, there were gold coins, jewels and a silver necklace.
Nicholas started laughing. He had finally found the pirate’s treasure — in his own garden.

WRITING
Once upon a time, there was a poor boy called Leo who lived in a small village near a dark forest. He lived with his grandmother in a small wooden house. They did not have much money, but they were very kind and always helped other people in the village.
One day, Leo was walking through the forest because he wanted to collect some firewood for the winter. While he was walking, he suddenly saw something shining on the ground. When he looked more carefully, he discovered a small golden key.
Later, Leo continued walking and found a narrow path he had never seen before. The path led him to an old wooden door hidden between two big trees.
When he used the golden key to open the door, he discovered a secret garden full of colourful flowers and magical animals.
While Leo was exploring the garden and looking at the beautiful plants, a tiny fairy appeared next to him. She had been watching him quietly because she wanted to see if he was a good person. The fairy told Leo that the garden only appeared to people with a kind heart.
Finally, the fairy gave Leo a small bag of gold coins and told him to take care of his grandmother and continue helping others. Leo returned home and told his grandmother everything that had happened. Thanks to the fairy’s gift, they were able to live comfortably and help many people in their village.
They lived happily ever after.
