Opportunities to connect with community leaders, clergy, and environmental advocates
A peaceful, family-friendly event open to all ages
The Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation is a spiritual journey that unites faith, community, and action for our common home. Hosted by the Historic 24th Street Family of Parishes—Sacred Heart, St. Benedict the Moor, and St. John’s—this walk connects prayer with advocacy for clean air and environmental justice in North Omaha.
This year’s pilgrimage holds special significance:
Part of the 2025 Jubilee Year
10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’
800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s Canticle of the Creatures
What Are the Pilgrimages of Hope for Creation About?
Healing and restoring our relationship with God, with each other, and with the earth, and cultivating a renewed commitment to caring for creation.
Rediscovering the beauty of God’s creation through prayer, reflection, and action.
Opportunities for personal transformation and community-building — from short walks around parish grounds to longer treks through mountains or forests, to visits to places of natural beauty or ecological significance.
