ABOUT THE JAZZ BAND...

The Omaha Central Jazz Band is an auditioned group of instrumentalists which are current members of the Concert Band. The Jazz Band will have many performance opportunities through the school year, including two concerts in the fall semester and one concert in the spring semester. The Jazz Band also will travel to local jazz festivals in southeastern Nebraska. In addition to the competitive schedule the band also performs for a number of events in the Omaha community

The Jazz Band’s repertoire will include music which features standard swing, latin, and rock styles. Participation in this group will offer the members many opportunities for improvisation. Members will also be encouraged to participate in small combo ensembles of their own design.
