TIMELESS THEATER

"...superb job depicting scenes of home and college life...captured the audience's attention throughout...Jefferson said she was always interested in how the media portrays African Americans...she designed the play to focus on relevant issues..."

Can I Get a Witness! © by Ollie L. Jefferson, Ph.D.

Dr. Ollie L. Jefferson wrote, directed, produced, and performed in her debut stage play as an undergraduate student at Johnson C. Smith University. The socially conscious campus-based drama featured a cast of over fifty students, a choreographer and dancers, singers during scene transitions, a gospel choir, and behind-the-scenes talent that included a sound effects technician and musician. Every performance was packed, and the Vice President of Student Affairs requested the drama back by popular demand. The encore performance grew into a community success and received accolades from front-page newspaper headlines and coverage in the Charlotte Post.

That Fits the Script

1st Rehearsal - IT AIN'T OVER YET!

It Ain't Over Yet!

The first rehearsal directed by Dr. Ollie with powerhouse songstress, Kimberly, and  backup vocalists, Shaneil and Taylor Reese.

Dr. Ollie L. Jefferson cast It Ain't Over Yet leading actress without hesitation. Kimberly Jordan-Gaskins arrived to the audition on public transportation before snowfall ready to perform. Some wondered how she would portray the role without changing the script. Dr. Ollie made no edits and directed the theatrical stage play with cultural sensitivity. The Visionary wrote the theatrical production based on her lived experience and  philosophy.

The It Ain't Over Yet production received a standing ovation as the leading actress came to the stage in a wheelchair during the curtain call. The audience was amazed realizing the actress was sitting throughout the theater performance which focuses on the main character's weight and challenges singing gospel songs in the entertainment world.

Dr. Ollie reached a stop light years after the performance and Kimberly pulled up alongside her. The rookie driver loss weight and gained the title of Ms. Wheelchair in the State of Maryland. It Ain't Over Yet only script difference was to greenlight a life-changing production.

There are no limits on stage and off stage for Timeless Visual Works!
