In November of 2023, my staff and I had the opportunity to have our paper's layout evaluated at the National Journalism Convention in Boston. After receiving some much-needed critiques on our layout, I finally felt ready to take the design jump I had been aching to pursue since 2021. Prior to the convention, I practiced the same layout design since my sophomore year, and as the most tenured editor, my staff tended to follow my lead in terms of design. This past year marked the first time our physical paper had been updated since our paper's founding 12 years ago. The old layout is displayed below on the left, while the new layout is displayed on the right. I truly fee like making this change has been immensely beneficial in increasing our readership among students at school. I've also noticed it fosters much more creativity in my layout staff compared to my junior year in the same position.
