This piece shows King Harald Fine hair, in the mist of battle, body of work was created due to the link with my own home town and Vikings. Oldham and the Greater Manchester area as strong connections with the vikings, Oldham it's self was once a trading point between Vikings and the anglo saxons. this can be traced back to 865 AD, when Danish settlers, legendary led by a figure named Alda, established a settlement known as Aldehulme. situated within the Danelaw, the area experienced generations of Viking control and influence, shaping local heritage.

The boat builder, the Vikings would never had acheived what they did without these people. these same people helped shape the landscape of the town and with plenty of archaeological evidence found in local cemeteries.
