The Political Letter Project has evolved into a class favorite for Mr. Turner's Social Studies students. In March of 2016 teacher Jarred Turner decided to write letters to Governors on behalf of his students. The idea originated from Turner's youth when he would send letters and cards to his favorite professional athletes in hopes to receive autographs in the mail. Recalling the success of his youthful autograph seeking Turner was not completely surprised to see responses within the first week of mailing letters. The Governors were not only signing cards sent to them by the class but also sending photos, letters and other items about their state. The following school year Dr. James Taylor joined Turner in writing letters and in addition to Governors sent them to Senators, Representatives and former Presidents. The Political Letter Project reached a new evolution in the Fall of 2016 when then Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt contacted Dr. Taylor about answering the students questions in person. From that first visit spawned the birth of what is now called Tomorrow's Oklahoma Leaders Lecture Series and has now hosted over 20 guests from local, state and federal offices.
