One of the best live gigs that I have ever been to (Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton, April 127th 1995).
Previously I hadn't appreciated what people meant by 'star' but I did after being completely enthralled by every moment that Courtney Love was on stage - she just held the audience, even when she was sat on the edge of the stage talking to the security guys off-mic for at least ten minutes in the middle of the gig.
The video below is from Nottingham Rock City, the same tour a month earlier, ends in a power outage.
I heard a lovely story from a teacher in Stourbridge who I worked with; Her daughter was in uni studying to be a Music Journalist and managed to get an interview with Courtney Love, who invited her to stay back stage to watch the gig. At the end the student had missed her last train home. Courtney invited her to travel with the band to their hotel, and let her share her room that night. No strings, just a real human being, they stayed up most of the night talking.
were an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1992.
A very over-looked grunge band, beautiful vocals.
There was another incarnation of Brad that was called Satchel, equally as good.
was formed after Brad took a break, by Brad's vocalist, Shaun Smith and their drummer.
a rightly exalted band that was plagued by extended inactivity from 1996 onward, largely due to lead singer Layne Staley's substance abuse, which resulted in his death in 2002.
Also, recommend you check out the following from their MTV Unplugged session...
Temple of the Dog was an American rock supergroup that formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. It was conceived by vocalist Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a tribute to his friend, the late Andrew Wood, lead singer of the bands Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone, and also featured Eddie Vedder.
