In the videos above, it to shows you guys an example of why deep sea mining isn't a good thing to do, due to the actual damages that cause the ocean floor and the natual ecosystems that are being destroyed to get metals that we use in our daily life. For example the types of metals dug out of the ocean floor are: Iron, Nickle, copper, cobalt, manganese, lead, zinc, gold, and silver. We use these on daily bases in our electronic devices, our cars, batteries, etc. But is it worth the damage that is being caused to the ocean floors and the species that live there? There are species that are being killed and harmed just to get these metals out of the ocean. The noise, the dust, and movement all cause harm to the species that live in the ocean floor. In the article that I posted too, it describes the 5 main causes or cons on deep sea mining. It talks into depth on how the noise, the light, the smoke from the machines can cause harm to the environment in the ocean floor. It can hurt species that are not used to that much smoke/dust to shift their entire way of life. The way the noise can also hurt the marine life would be due to the deep sea not having much noise and being very dark and quiet, the noises from the machine can alter the way the marine life is used to living and even causing fatal deaths in many of them.
