Plate tectonics is the way we understand how the earth works and moves. The earth is made out of 3 main layers which are: the core, the mantle, and the crust. We do not physically see when plate tectonics in the earth move because it is a process that happens slowly after time. Pictures of before and after is when we actually get to see the difference in the earth's movements. But sometimes when there is earthquakes, thats when we physically feel the earth moving and it is caused by the heat from the core of the earth moving outwards. There is also 3 different shifts in the earth: the
In this video she talks about the ocean's layers, the continental margin and seafloors, as well as the types of seafloor sediments. The different seafloor sediments include of Terrigenous,Biogenous, Hydrogenous, and Cosmogenous. Each sediment comes from different places which are different types of rocks. The terrigenous comes from volcanoes, and wind dust. It consists of gravel, clay, sand, and silts. The biogenous comes from accumulation of plants and animals and it consists of calcareous and siliceous oozes. The hydrogenous comes from minerals and it contains. carbonates, metals, and sulfides. Lastly the cosmogenous comes from extraterrstrial dust and meterorites and contains glassy spheres and dust. The picture consists of the slopes and how the process occurs.
