Hot Pot
Goal: Find if there are any storage, strength or taste differences, advantages or disadvantages in the use of ionizing radiation with cannabis. (The only one with much real possibility is storage) This is just a quick, crude “back of the handkerchief” type of peek at the idea. It will take a month to get even a taste of the data, I just don't have a powerful enough neutron source to hit it hard (which is probably good), so I have to hit it slow instead. I'm going to do it real simple: put the pot in-between two mild mannered homemade neutron sources, surround it with lead blocks, and leave it for a few weeks.
I was inspired by two papers:

Putting lead blocks around an empty container to block out some natural radiation, get cleaner measurements. I need a baseline before I put in the plant itself.
There is clearly some gamma radiation out there in the universe laughing at my little lead shield! (I’m sure a bit of beta is going through too from stuff around my office).
And constantly getting second opinions:
A bit higher than the background, but cannabis takes up some potassium so it gets some hyperactive particles along with it the rest.
But now, this innocent green cannabis finds itself stuck right between two home-brew neutron sources, to be left for a while and then measured again. Then again, then again, and again, and again etc. For at least a month I think. That will get it a decent neutron count at that point (equal to like a milliseconds time in Dons beam!). . . . See if I can gather any real data as this progresses.
Initial tests - baselines - no pot, just plastic container.;
GMC-600 = 60cpm .22 usv/h — and Waysear 8min = .11usv/h
W/ pot in container:
Wausear = .12. GMC-600 = .19usv/h
Q to self: Would it be worth packing some wax in there too? Thermalize the neutrons a tiny bit and get more interaction with the cannabis atoms? The little layer of wax in the bottom home brew source helps some, but it can't be catching too many particles.
