Please note that only registered students will have their work marked.
Students may produce their work by hand on paper or electronically. Those working electronically should be aware that it may be difficult to insert equations and diagrams.
Those working on paper should scan (preferred) or take photos of their work. If taking photos, you should take a photo of each page separately, and the photos need to be of a good enough quality that writing is clearly legible.
Those working electronically should just submit their file.
The following applies to all students.
Do not write your name, school, year level, country, or any other identifying information anywhere in your work.
Do write your participant ID at the beginning of your work.
Start each problem on a new page and indicate the problem number clearly.
You will need a Google Account to submit your work. It is not difficult to create one - we recommend that you do so in advance if you don't already have one.
You will be able to submit a single file, up to 10MB in size. PDF is preferred, but (Word) documents are also acceptable. If you can only scan one page at a time, you can use this (external) PDF joiner to put your pages together. If you took photos, please insert them in the correct order into a document and submit the document.
The name of your file should be your participant ID.
You can practise submitting your work using the form on the right. It is strongly recommended that you try turning your work into a file and submitting it before the competition. All submissions made before 2:00pm on Saturday 9th May, the start of the test period, will be ignored, and you will still be able to submit.
You will receive an automatically generated email after submitting your work.
If you make multiple submissions, only the last one made before 4:15pm will be marked.
Students who submit late will not be eligible for awards and their work might not be marked.
After registering you will receive an email from Eventbrite. If you cannot find the email in your inbox, check your Junk folder.
In the email from Eventbrite there will be an "order number". This is a ten digit number and it will be your Participant ID for the NZOMO. Please record this number because you will need it to submit your work.
Students attending decile 1-3 schools who register using the relevant form will instead receive an email from the organiser containing their participant ID by 11:00am on Saturday 9th May.
Read about why we are using participant IDs on the FAQ page.
