You are responsible to pass along all pickup instructions to them. Most CSA mistakes occur when members send substitutes – please help us avoid mistakes that cost our farmers money by sharing this pickup guide with anyone you send on your behalf!

Yes, the vegetables featured in our fall CSA are organic. Most of our Co-op farmers are already USDA certified organic. There are a handful of member farms that are considered “transitional,” which means they are in the process of becoming certified organic and following all USDA organic standards (it’s at minimum a 2 year process to become certified organic). A couple flower and berry farmers are chemical free (no chemicals used at all but not certified organic or trying to become certified organic), but this does not affect the vegetable shares.
About fruit, our fruit share is NOT exclusively organic. Most of the fruits featured are apples, which we get from a local Lancaster orchard that uses IPM standards. This growing method always aims to use the least amount of chemicals possible while also integrating more biodynamic agricultural practices that create a better and safer growing environment (examples include pheromone traps to prevent pest mating- thus hindering pest population growth and subsequent issues, utilizing beneficial/predatory insects to reduce pest populations).
If you miss the pickup window to get your veggies, you don't have to feel bad about it. Your food won't be trashed! It will be donated. Please contact the onsite coordinator (nyucsa2020@gmail.com) if you are interested in those donations.
Lancaster Farm offers replacement or online store credit for missing items. This is true regardless of the reason : theft or mistake.
