We offer a month-to-month rental program with the option to return or exchange your instrument at any time at no extra charge. Rent online and have your instrument delivered to the school, or pick it up in the store!

Instrument Preference Guide

All instruments are guaranteed school-approved instruments and are in excellent working condition. Economy, Good, and Premium instruments have been previously rented, processed by our technicians, sterilized, and their rates reduced. New instruments have never been rented or sold before.

Repair & Replacement Coverage

For your peace of mind, we offer "Repair and Replacement" coverage for rented instruments. A nominal monthly fee will protect you from loss and damage due to theft, fire, and vandalism. From time to time, your instrument may need some adjustments. We offer a professional full-service repair facility. Adjustments and minor repairs will be done free of charge for our rental customers.

Billing Options

For your convenience, we offer two ways to pay for your rental instrument. Automatic debit to checking account. Automatic credit card or debit card billing.

Rent Only Plan

Month-to-month commitment.
Convert to a Rent-to-Own plan at any time if desired.
Conversion requires the payment of a $75 fee, all of the monthly rental rate of your rental will be applied toward ownership. Please contact the store for more information.

Rent-To-Own Plan

100% of the monthly rental rate of your monthly payment applies to the purchase for as long as your rent.
No risk; no obligation to buy. You may cancel your contract or convert to rent only at any time.
Instrument exchanges are allowed (some limitations apply - please contact the store for more information.)

FREE loaner instrument if yours is in for maintenance or repair.

Why should I spend more money on an instrument?

I get it, we can’t all afford several hundreds or thousands of dollars on an instrument, but here’s the blunt truth. Your students will find much more joy in playing music if they are successful. Cheap instruments are just that. Cheap! One of the main causes of students leaving band is that they outgrow these cheap instruments within 6 months to a year. This means that the instrument can actually hinder the progress of the student.

Playing an instrument should relatively easy and fun to play. A good instrument does not take a lot of effort to play. Being a musician for over 20 years, I’ve played very cheap instruments and very expensive instruments. You do not have to buy a super expensive instrument to buy a good quality instrument. there are several options in the $200-$400 range (Allora is a fantastic place to start) that will serve for many years over an $80-$120 instrument. Yes, they will cost more upfront, however, your student will not be nearly as frustrated trying to play the same notes as everyone else and they will enjoy playing more often and you won’t be needing to take it into the repair shop every couple of weeks. And yes, with instruments, it really makes a big difference in quality over cost.

I highly recommend renting-to-own a slightly more expensive instrument than having students struggle to learn to play an instrument and get frustrated and quit. Below are some of the brands of instruments that I stay away from. Yes, they sound good right out of the box, but they won’t last long enough for your student to actually progress past a first-year sound. not saying it can’t happen, but it would literally take the most dedicated students to overcome the quality.

In trying to be as transparent as possible, I’ve put together a playlist of cheap vs. not-cheap instruments. These are the same instruments listed above with one exception, a professional on these instruments is reviewing the instruments out of the box. they will say that these instruments are not bad or surprisingly good.

A professional should be able to make a cheap instrument sound good but they still have to put in way more effort than anyone should have to.
These are brand-new instruments, not instruments that have been played on for several weeks. They should sound good and play fine.
Just because a professional can make it sound good, does not mean anyone can make it sound good. Sounding good and quality are two different things.

I’ve played many of these instruments as well, but after a few months of being played on, they become very difficult to play and things start breaking.

We all want our kids to be successful and happy in band, let’s give them the best chance to be successful.
