When can I receive my NTHU student ID card card?
Obtain your student ID card within 1-2 weeks after arriving in Taiwan. Collect it at the OGA office, situated in the same building as the library, opposite Louisa Coffee. Office hours: 9 AM - 12 PM, 1:30 PM - 5 PM. Locate us on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/gdNCEaqSzWWPewXFA.
Are there any curfew regulations?
Students can access the dormitory buildings using their student ID cards at any time. However, there are restrictions on visiting hours. For male dormitories, visiting hours are from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight), and for female dormitories, visiting hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
How to access the dormitory buildings?
Before you pay the dormitory fee: Use a temporary card for dormitory access.
After you pay the dormitory fee: After paying the required fees, students can use their student ID card to access the dormitories starting from the next day. They should return the temporary card at the Service Center and use their student ID card for dormitory access thereafter.
Is there a secure storage facility for valuable items or large amounts of cash?
The dormitory rooms are equipped with basic furniture such as desks, chairs, wardrobes, desk lamps, power outlets, telephone jacks, and internet access. Currently, there are no safes provided, but students can choose to purchase their own if needed.
Where can I buy bedding supplies?
NTHU does not provide linens such as pillows, mattresses, and bed sheets. Therefore, you might consider purchasing these items. Students can buy these essentials at 水木生活中心 (on-campus) or A-mart 愛買新竹店 (off-campus). Additionally, in the same building, there is a dedicated furniture brand called HOLA where you can find a wide selection of mattresses that cater to your specific needs.
Why haven't I received the dormitory fee receipt?
The Division of Student Housing will send out the dormitory fee receipt within one week after the student arrives in Taiwan.
What documents do we need to provide during check-in?
Any form of identification document is acceptable, preferably one that includes both a name and a photograph, such as a passport or driver's license.
What is the earliest time to begin the check-in process?
The division of student housing recommends that the ideal time for check-in is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What is the deadline for checking out of the dormitory?
Based on the accommodation date inquiry you provided, we will assist you in applying for accommodation starting from the specified date and ending as needed.
How to make online payments for the accommodation fee?
Currently, NTHU's administrative system only accepts payments made within Taiwan. If you do not want to incur any handling fees, please follow the instructions on the dormitory fee receipts for making payments. However, if you are willing to bear the handling fees, you can make the payment at any ATM in Taiwan ( that has transfer capabilities) using the following steps:
Insert your "Other Banks" financial card and select "Other Services," "Bill Payment," and "Transfer to Interbank Account (NTD 15 handling fee per transaction)."
Enter the bank code "004," the 16-digit payment account number (located at the top left corner of the payment slip), and the payable amount stated on the payment slip.
After confirming that the information is correct, press the "Confirm" button to complete the transaction.
What is the due date for paying the dormitory fee?
The deadline for paying the dormitory fee varies for each individual. Please refer to the “payment deadline/繳費期間" indicated at the bottom of your dormitory fee request.
How many hours of homework can I expect per day?
Each teacher has different requirements, and not every assignment is related to writing.
Are there any important testing dates that cannot be missed?

Are there any breaks during class sessions?
Morning class schedule: 9:10 AM to 12:00 PM. Afternoon class schedule: 1:30 PM to 4:20 PM. There is a 10-minute break every 50 minutes, but it may vary based on each lecturer's preference.
How to enroll for the next semester?
We welcome students to continue participating in our program, and it is actually quite common for students to do so. We will review your application form from the summer program, so you won't need to submit a new application. However, the selection of scholarship recipients still requires approval from the supervisor, so there's no guarantee of admission.

Are there any specific events that we need to participate in?
In addition to Mandarin learning courses, we also require all participants to attend the Bilingual Teaching Cooperation with Dongyuan Elementary School, HLH Social Welfare Foundation and the weekly Language Partner Program. These are mandatory components of this program.
Does the program facilitate any opportunities to meet NTHU students?
