North South University HCI Research - DIAL
North South University Human Computer Interaction is a Research Group gathering marvelous HCI academic researchers, interactive students, and HCI experts from Industry based in Bangladesh. The first initiative started with making Dhaka ACM SIGCHI Chapter. NSUHCI started working on HCI in 2017 by researching with Google. Dr. Nova Ahmed (North South University), her colleagues, and students completed the Google research program, and then this team focused more on working with HCI.
NSUHCI continuously performs multiple research projects and has already published a few quality papers in prestigious HCI venues in ACM, IEEE, and EAI communities, such as CHI, CSCW, UbiComp, and Pervasive Health. Also, there are publications in Springer, Elsevier, and Frontiers. HCI experts in Bangladesh have joined here daily to enrich the community and have been successfully supported by academic and Industry researchers through foreign collaborations based on HCI.
In 2020, NSUHCI inaugurated a LAB as DIAL: Design Inclusion and Access Lab to work specifically on technology design Inclusion and access. In recent years, this community has received multiple research grants, including Google, Gates Foundation, GCRF-UKRI, BRAC, UIU, and NSU CTRG. NSUHCI has organized several international ACM programs together with Dhaka ACM SIGCHI Chapter. NSUHCI is part of BanglaCHI.

Become an ACM SIGCHI Member
ACM SIGCHI membership is helpful for students to get constant updates and to get logistic support from the international community. For students, ACM membership will cost US$ 18 (Student membership), and for professionals, it will cost US$ 20 (Professional membership). Additionally, students can take SIGCHI Membership worth US$ 7 along with ACM Membership. You can do membership from the SIGCHI Membership page. On this page, you should select Non-Member Option 2. Become a member of NSUHCI
NSUHCI is researching Human Factors in the mixed method process, including field studies all around Bangladesh. To be a part of NSUHCI, one must be passionate about HCI research. HCI researches are technically more extended; sometimes, one project may continue for multiple years. NSUHCI constantly publishes papers in prestigious communities. There is no prerequisite to join NSUHCI, but the newcomers should be Passionate about HCI Research and hard-working (have to work on projects apart from coursework). All members must complete the human factor course from TRREE. This course is free, and to become a certified Human Factor Researcher, a member must complete Modules 1, 2.1, and 3.1. This module is in a total of around 7 hours, and the certificate will be given with the 80% of marks in each module. One can obtain multiple times to obtain the marks.
