IN THIS LESSON YOU WILL BE INTRODUCED TO JOINTS (MOVEMENT).
By the end of this lesson you should be able to:
Describe what a joint is.
List the different types of joints.
Give examples of each type of joint.
JOINTS IN THE HUMAN BODY
Your bones can move because they are connected by joints. A joint is the place where two or more bones are attached to each other.
All your joints can be classified into two broad groups: moveable and immoveable joints.
Watch the YouTube video on joints attached below. Pay careful attention for the definition of movable and immovable joints and examples of each. You will need this information to answer a quiz for marks.
Examples of hinge joints: elbow and knee joint.
Examples of ball and socket joints: hip and shoulder joint.
Example of a chain joint: backbone.
Now that you have learnt about joints, answer Activity 2 (quiz) on Google Forms below for marks. Please take the test before the 12/08/2022. You will receive immediate feedback. Click on the purple page icon or on the arrow in a square icon (top left-hand or right-hand side corner) to open the quiz in a new tab.
