Seafarers designated to perform security duties including anti-piracy and anti-armed-robbery-related activities on board vessel.
The course complies with all requirements of the STCW Convention, as amended, Chapter VI, Sections A-VI/6 and Tables A-VI/6-1 and A-VI/6-2 of the SCTW Code.
The course is certified by Latvian Maritime Administration.
Those who successfully complete this course should be able:
Contribute the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness;
Recognize security threats;
Understand the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance;
Maintain the conditions set forth in a ship security plan;
Recognize security risks and threats;
Undertake regular security inspections of the ship;
Use security equipment and systems properly
The Training course covers the following topics:

Security responsibilities;
Ship security assessment; Security equipment;
Threat Identification, Recognition, and Response;
Ship Security Actions;
Contingency planning, drills and exercises;
Security administration.
To be assigned on Security Training for seafarers with designated security duties training course the participant should present national passport and seaman’s book.
During training course theoretical lessons are given using PowerPoint presentations.
