The proposed site is identified as Draft Allocation 'PS24' in the emerging Stroud Local Plan Review, to be allocated for 900 homes and a primary school.

In light of a potential increase in the housing requirement for the district as set by the new proposed Government's Standard Methodology, the Council have recently undertaken a consultation for additional housing options. One such option is to increase the capacity of the existing draft allocations. The Publication Draft of the Local Plan was published in May 2021, with consultation ending in July 2021.

The Cam Neighbourhood Plan relates to the adopted Local Plan and so does not recognise this site as one which is to be allocated for development, however any proposals on this site will still be assessesed against its policies which is particularly relevant with regards to design.
