NEMCo Training Opportunities
NEMCo Field Ops and RACES teams conduct mini-trainings during their meetings at Fire Station 51 in Kenmore. The Field Ops. team also have three-hour training every month, typically on the Saturday following the monthly meeting. Should the location has to be changed due to scheduling issues, announcements will be made at the monthly meetings and on our Home page. The Public is welcome to attend all our training events.
Other Area Training
As a courtesy to our public, please note that other area agencies provide some preparedness classes, such as CPR/AED, Basic First Aid, Stop the Bleed training, and other related classes. Check the Shoreline Fire Department, the South Snohomish County Fire Department, and area hospitals, such as Harborview and Providence (for Stop the Bleed) web sites for more information and their class registrations. Note that classes fill up quickly.
Remember to check out your local libraries. Last year, for example, both the Sno-Isle and Jefferson County library systems offered a variety of preparedness topics throughout the year.
FEMA Independent Study classes
The FEMA web site has a number of preparedness-related training courses. Check out their catalog, obtain an ID number, and take some classes! Note that to be a NEMCo-credentialed volunteer you need to take FEMA ICS-100, 200, 700, 800. Check our MEMBERSHIP page for additional details.
