What is an urban interventions/just transition project?
An urban transition project shows the movement over time and how its development changes as the project progresses in different communities.
Just transition projects are urban interventions that facilitate the understanding of an ecological framework and a new circular economy. This framework captures the complexity of social justice, climate change, and local governance. These projects aim to maximize benefits and minimize hardship for workers and their communities.
The framework of just transitions and urban interventions will help facilitate the implementation local to global sustainability plans, from the Mayor's Green New Deal to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

Urban Intervention Project Ideas:
I have to ideas for an Urban Intervention Project. The first idea is to develop a vacant lot into a small homeless community. In order to attempt this project, I would work with my local councilman on seeing if we can develop a vacant lot in the community for the housing of converted portable toilets that will serve as housing for the homeless. This small community of homeless housing would give each individual their own plot that they can develop with a garden or small yard. The converted portable toilets will sit on a trailer which will have a smaller unit to function as a shower/restroom. The larger unit will function as the living quarters. These homes will run on solar energy with batteries that are charged throughout the day.
The second idea is to redevelop an area at North Hollywood High School that currently has an old U-Shaped Hydroponic Pond that has not been in working condition in over 30 years. The plan is to modernize the old hydroponic pond into a Solar Powered Hydroponic Garden that will include a vertical garden wall trellis to grow fruits, herbs and vegetables while to pond will grow different types of plants. Once Completed the idea is to partner with our local city council to provide these foods to the less fortunate and homeless. This project will allow for members of the construction program to collaborate with the agriculture program to develop a system that will help provide food for the less fortunate and homeless population in the community. This project ties into my developing a small homeless community to assist with removing the homeless from the streets.
