Devblog - April 2025: Spring ahead

Hello everyone!

It's been a busy month since our last update in March, and we're excited to share some of the progress we've made across the board. We've been hard at work expanding our existing content and laying the groundwork for some exciting new features. So, let's dive right in!

Branching Out: Welcome NORMOD Nordics and NORMOD Cold War!

We're thrilled to announce the arrival of two brand new extension branches: NORMOD Nordics and NORMOD Cold War! These dedicated mods will allow us to explore specific themes and introduce tailored content without impacting the main mod. We're aiming for a release of both of these exciting new branches most likely in May!

• NORMOD Cold War: Prepare for a blast from the past! Our Cold War branch is kicking off with some iconic gear. We've added the M58 helmet, the classic M75 jacket and pants, and accompanying web gear. To arm you for the era, we've also introduced the formidable AG3 main battle rifle. Expect more historical additions in the future!

• NORMOD Nordics: Embracing the modern Scandinavian landscape, the Nordics branch focuses on current-era equipment. Our initial focus has been on the NCU uniform, which we've meticulously retextured in the distinct patterns of Swedish, Danish Multicam, and the instantly recognizable Finnish M05 camo.

Main Mod Enhancements:

While our new branches have been a significant focus, we haven't forgotten about the core experience! Here's what we've been up to in the main NORMOD:

• Hearing Protection and Tactical Integration: We've introduced the highly requested Peltor headset. You can now equip it as a standalone item or seamlessly attach it to the Ops Core helmet for a more integrated look.

• Expanding Loadout Options: For those utilizing the Thor Vest, we've added a detailed backpanel based on the Direct Action - SPITFIRE MK II Utility Back Panel. This will provide even more customization and storage options for your missions.

• Berets for all major branches have been added! We made as accurate as possible. If yours is missing make sure to tell us.

• Inventory System Overhaul (In Progress): This is a big one! We're currently deep into scripting some improvements to the inventory system that will bring a new level of realism and interaction. Our goal is to make attachments visible on helmets and allow for intuitive drag-and-drop functionality for customization. 

• Streamlined Gear: We've added several presets for ammopouches, allowing for quicker and more convenient loadout configuration. Additionally, the versatile Thor battle belt is now available to further enhance your tactical setup.

• Visual Refinements: Paying attention to detail is crucial. We've adjusted the textures for the M23 NCU to better reflect the latest imagery from the Norwegian Armed Forces, ensuring a higher level of accuracy.
