Welcome to SITREP #01 (November 2024)
We are just starting out, but we are excited to start this journey!
The team wants to bring the Norwegian Armed Forces to the Arma Platform. We came together because we share the same idea, and we want to bring it to life for the community.
It is important to say that the mod will limit itself in terms of scope. Our focus is to complete our current road map. Our road map consists of 3 stages and will end with the launch of ARMA 4. That does not mean we are done, but it's will mark a new chapter.
We are currently entering Stage 1. What the stages mean is present on the main page. But in short we are focused on the main TMBN Rifleman. That includes his gear, weapons and uniform. Stage 1 will run throughout 2025. When we are happy with stage 1, we will expand further into Stage 2 and 3.
From uniforms to gear and weapons, our goal is to provide a faithful depiction of the Norwegian Armed Forces in its current form, and for the near future. That is why we are creating the Nordic Combat Uniform that will be the universal plattform for all Nordic countries going forward. In our current build we have a version of the M02 and M17 uniform created by team member Valka. As well as simple re-textured version of the original US BDU in M98 Camo.
We’ve also begun work on our very own ARMA terrain: LOFOTEN.
This project aims to create a true-to-life replica of "Vestvågøy" within the Lofoten archipelago.
The terrain will showcase the unique landscapes and environments that make this region so iconic, offering players a unique backdrop for their missions. The terrain is in pre-alpha. But we hope to have it in a playable state in late 2025.
Now about the mod release. We are aiming on releasing the first build in late summer of 2025 (Q3). We have chosen to wait because we want to bring you good quality work.
We are also looking to grow our team. If you’re skilled in 3D modeling or have experience working with the Enfusion Workbench, we’d love to hear from you! Whether you’d like to support the project or become a part of our team, your expertise could help take NORMOD to the next level.
This is just the beginning of an exciting journey, and we can’t wait to see how the ARMA community embraces NORMOD and LOFOTEN.
Stay tuned for updates!
