Welcome to SITREP #02 (Desember 2024)
We are inching closer to Christmas🎄, and since last month we have made some good progress! Originally work was to begin in January of 2025, but the team was eager and wanted to get going almost immediately.
A lot of work has gone into the new Lofoten terrain. The map is currently in the phase of assets being placed down in prioritized locations. We are also working on new assets that make Lofoten stand out. These are things like the classic "Rorbu" building, iconic drying racks for stock fish, fish farming industry related assets and much more.
We are also experimenting with graffiti textures to make some areas stand out.
The first phase of NORMOD is about the individual rifleman. So we need weapons and attachements. Work has been done to implement the "P80" (Glock 17) service pistol.
The P80 has been in service for more than a decade and for NORMOD we chose the Gen5 version. There are no plan for red dots, only a flashlight attachement.
With update 1.2.1 we received native support for suppressors. We therefore started early with bringing the Rotex V family into the game. These are mainly for the HK416, 417 and possible C8SFW rifles.
The HK416N is the main rifle and we have done some early testing in game. There is much to be done with this one, so more updates will come in 2025 when its closer to being ready.
Lastly we wanted to share an update regarding the new uniform. The Nordic Combat Uniform (NCU) is the main uniform for NORMOD.
With update 1.2.1 there was an update to the character armature. It relates to the introduction of facial animations to ARMA REFORGER. Because of this update we waited with bringing the new uniform to the main game until the update was live. The NCU is now being weight painted and integrated to the game. Once this is done we will review it, and do adjustments accordingly.
The development of NORMOD will be slowed down over the holidays. We are all going to spend time with family and recharge before the new year! Next year is going to exciting for NORMOD as we work towards finishing Phase 1. Thank you for reading the this SITEP, and we wish you a merry Christmas, happy holidays and a happy new year! 🎁
