Remember your school's username and password in order to log in. In the search box, type the phrase Endangered Species. Then narrow your search to grades 3-5.
Through picture books and videos, the learners' curiosity about this topic is sparked in the Open stage. For some students, this information may be new to them. Encouraging conversation, asking questions about the topic, and writing in their notebook will have students begin to make connections to the new learning. The learning goal for the students with this stage is that it "...introduces the general topic to engage the inquiry community." (Kuhltahu et al, 2012, p. 51)
