As a zoologist, in this phase, you will identify, or decide on, which animal you will research for your presentation.
Look back through your zoologist notebook.
Think about three animals you wish to know more about.
Reflect on ideas and questions you have about each animal in the pink section of your notebook.
Think about the resources you could use, and how interested you are in this animal to decide which one is your top choice.
Share with your teacher your decision and why using the Google Form (to the right)
Now that you have decided on which animal you will research, you will gather facts about your animal to create your presentation.
Let's go gather knowledge!
In the identify section, students will reflect on what they have learned and the resources they used. Students will create a more focused topic based on "...interesting ideas, pressing problems, and emerging themes students have explored in various sources of information" (Kuthlthau et al, 2012, p. 93). Although there are no new sources introduced here, students will reflect on the animals and resources they were introduced to in order to narrow down from their top three to their choice of animal for their presentation.
