I was born in Passaic, NJ on October 2, 1980. I am a 5th-grade mathematics and science teacher at Passaic Public Schools. I have been teaching for 15 years. I am utterly grateful for the experiences and connections I have made with my students and their families over the years because they have been the driving force to keep going. I describe myself as a dedicated and passionate teacher. For 13 years, I have received a perfect attendance award, and for two years I received a half-year perfect attendance award. It was an ultimate sacrifice however, it gives my heart joy to show up for my students every day!
I am a product of the Passaic schools. I graduated from Passaic High School in 1998. I received my undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University. I hold a master's degree from William Paterson University in Curriculum and Learning: Teaching Children Mathematics. I hold a master's degree in educational technology from Ramapo College. I also hold a master's degree in educational leadership from Montclair State University.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am a HUGE Erykah Badu fan. I attend her concerts whenever I can. I am a sneakerhead! I love collecting and wearing cool sneakers. I love listening to jazz. "In a Sentimental Mood" is my favorite song by Duke Ellington and John Coltrane. I also enjoy boxing and doing karate. Lastly, I love learning about Black history and culture.
