I'm an Instructional Designer who loves to experiment and elevate content design with new technology.
My passion for learning came from a young age. My first job was a swim instructor, where I had a chance to teach various levels and age groups of swimmers how to swim. In the 7 years I spent as an Instructor, I learned to understand the different types of learners and built various teaching methods to accommodate the diversity of learners in each class.
Once I completed my Bachelors of Business at University of Toronto, I seeked out EdTech companies such as Top Hat where I landed my first job as an Instructional Designer. I had various opportunities to work with various professors across different universities to help develop and transform their content. I assisted in developing content in a Hybrid delivery model to assist with online and remote learning. I transitioned from Top Hat to a FinTech company called Vena Solutions.
This company was fairly new with their Instructional Design team, so I spent a lot of my time developing and creating various processes and content templates, while working with Executives to help develop Leadership training led by our Training Team. I was also responsible for onboarding new Instructional Designers and mentoring them with the new processes and content development.
I decided to take my knowledge and experience from SaaS companies and take on a new challenge at Samsung Canada. Here I focused on developing content for new products launching in the market. I created various job aids, train the trainer material and focused on developing internal training for Samsung employees with new products. With the pandemic in full swing, the training team was downsized and I pursued my current role as an Instructional Designer at Ceridian with the Strategic Needs Team.
My responsibilities focus on developing and creating content for our high engagement teams who interact and work with customers on the daily. This includes eLearning modules, job aids, and instructor-led trainings. In between different projects, I help the customer success team create content for the new CRM Migration to Salesforce. I develop eLearning modules, job aids and micro-videos to train internal employees as well as modify and deliver the content to external customers.
In my spare time, I love collaborating and working with different freelance clients to assist in developing various instructional materials. My recent projects involved a CRM Change Management project which focused on training the Global Sales and Marketing team to the new Salesforce Lightning Interface. I delivered instructor led training and created supplementary materials such as job aids to support the transition. Another client that I've worked with is Project Liftoff Inc. This company focuses on working with youth from underserved communities to assist in job placements. I've helped to create their sales curriculum from end to end, delivered weekly classes, and provided additional training support.
Through these experiences I've learned and enjoyed developing curriculum, writing content, designing and delivering eLearning and Instructor-led training, and always encouraging learners to become lifelong learners.
