Artifact: 3rd grade class website
Grade: 3
Project: The website is an important artifact for me because it contains a good foundation of what I find important in my classroom environment and culture. These ideas include: the expectations and rules I have for my future students, how I will incorporate diversity and cultural beliefs in our classroom, procedures that I plan to follow and incorporate, the teaching styles I plan to use, and resources for the families I will be serving. Creating this website served as both good technology practice for creating a website, but also empowered me to think about all the various aspects that go into a well-maintained classroom and the implementation of these ideas. This original website was created early on in my educator program, so my goal is to continue my own learning and to make adjustments for my future classroom based on the knowledge and experiences as they occur.
Through this project I learned more about myself and the type of classroom I intend to have. I have also learned the different learning techniques and strategies that I want to bring into the classroom, with the realistic goal of being flexible to what my students need. The ideas that lay my foundation support those of this standard, which include embracing student's emotional well-being (physically, mentally, and culturally), supporting self-efficacy, self-motivation, positive classroom social interactions, and mutual respect.

Artifact: Daily Writing Journal
Grade: 5th
Project: These are examples of different daily writing journal prompts that kids have been presented with. While we are looking for students to practice their writing skills to various prompts, generate ideas and creatively write, we also incorporate social emotional learning, self reflections, goal setting and positivity through these activities. We are also looking for students to demonstrate good writing, using conventions and grammar skills, but also stepping outside of solely academic based writing.
