Pupils Attendance Register
Purpose: Records Absence and Attendance of Pupils Daily.
Regulation: Attendance registers must be marked at every school session, regardless of the number of pupils present, starting from the first day of the school year to last. Up to fifteen minutes in the morning and fifteen minutes in the afternoon, should be allocated to take the attendance. The names of boys shall be entered separately from those of girls in the register. Boys first and girls beginning from number thirty-one. To mark a register there are specific symbols for attendance. That is presence is marked with a ‘/’, while absence is denoted by an ‘o’. When a pupil has been absent from the school for three months without notification of withdrawal, an entry should be made in the withdrawal column of the admission register, and pupil’s name should not be re-entered in the attendance register for the following term. These regulations ensure accurate tracking of student attendance, which is important for monitoring educational engagement and addressing issues such as truancy.

Record of Work (Journal)
Purpose: Gives a summary of what was taught for the week.
Regulation: The record of work should accurately reflect work done each week. There must be a record of work for each grade (or class within a grade) at the primary level. Entries must be precise, concise, in past tense and made at the end of each week; topics, subtopics and examples should be included as far as possible. Records of work must be checked and signed weekly by Divisional Heads and endorsed by the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or someone designated to do so. Entries should be recorded in the specific slots provided. The term and week ending must be indicated.
