Argonne: Akshay Presented detail of 2D/3D heterostructure MoS2/Diamond work with theoretical COMSOL study.
OleMiss group: Graphen QDs synthesis By Ahemad/Dinesh and Mohammed. Theoretical planning and preliminary study by Sasan/Jagrity was discussed.
JSU Group (Pradhan): Roshan presented statistics of 2D materials for Energy storage application. Thickness dependent study. Plan for the extended work. Sujit presented Micro Ionic liquid/2D Hybrid Capacitor work for High density energy storage. Results are very preliminary.
JSU Group (Pradhan): Jerzy/Pabitra presented some theoretical interface study of 110 Diamond/MoS2 charge transfer work to understand charge transfer, density of states, band alignment etc.

Dr Pabitra Samanta/Jerzy Leszczynski presented theoretucal simulation work on 2D/0D heterostructure Optical/electronic properties which will be helpful for the experimental work done by OleMiss group.
Dr Pradhan, Sujit Kadam and Mr Roshan Padhan went to conduct experiment at National High Magnetic Field Lab, Tallahassee, FL
Dr Sujit Kadam presented PL data on newly grown layered crystals.

The team welcomed Dr. Sujit Kadam, a new JSU postdoc.
Dr. Nihar updated everyone on the approval of the first annual report, including the carryover budget due to the fact the the equipment has not been yet received.
July 12, 2024 joint NSF PREM/DoE conference. There will be estimated 2 guests from ANL. An invitation will be sent to the program office. JSU has been actively recruiting local high school students into the summer program. REU and high school students from UM will train on the UM campus and present posters at the conference at JSU. They may visit JSU along with the postdocs from UM during the year.
An all-team meeting is tentatively planned on July 11-12, 2024 on JSU campus.
The team agreed to coordinate and keep everyone up-to-date regarding the participation in various meetings during the year.
The team presented the latest research results.
UM Teams visited the JSU lab to conduct 2D/2D QDs heterostructure device measurement. Promising Preliminary results were observed. The challenge on Theoretical exploration was discussed.
Pabitra/Jerzy presented Graphene/WSe2 heterostructure results and the different phonon modes.
Dr. Nihar updated the team on the progress of the DoE EPSCoR website.
Among the upcoming plans, the May 5-11, 2024 visit to ANL was highlighted.

1st Kick-off Meeting on September 5th 2023, 9-10 AM
Great 1st Group Meeting. Discussed with several things, approach, initiation and planning for working effectively together. Some highlights are below:
Access for Argonne Computational cluster for simulation: Jerzy group
Convey to the Advisory committee members for the approval of the grant and express to work together with their feedback.
All groups meet once in a month, sub-group meeting is planned in their respective institution.
UM personnel to get access to Argonne.
Frequent exchanging students/personnel between JSU and UM.
Face-to-face meeting either at Conference venue/@UM/JSU or at Argonne.
