For this assignment we were grouped up in pairs and tasked with exploring the global technology dynamics of two different places that are outside of the United States and then using our core digital literacy skills to create a presentation that compares the two. I chose to research the city of London and my partner Youseff Farah chose to research the country of Egypt.

Interesting fact: Egypt is home to the only remaining ancient wonder in the world.

Interesting fact: Due to the amount of greenery and green space found per square mile the United Nations could legally define the city of London as a forest.

One lesson that I learned while completing my global group project was the value of academic sources that can be found in your local or school library. Often times when students are given a research project the first thing that they do is turn to Google. While Google can provide you with some viable research, you as the searcher have to dissect your results into what searches can be trusted and what searches can't be trusted. Additionally, only doing research via Google significantly increases your chances of running into unneeded and unwanted advertisements. However, when using a purely academic source that can be found in libraries you know that you are using a source that only has one true intention; providing you with the information that you need. The use of these academic sources is something that me and my partner Youseff took advantage of. By using more academic resources we were able to ensure that the other was finding reliable information which allowed us to spend less time on our individual research, and more time on perfecting our group presentation.
