Duvet and pillows for the sofabed can be found in the cupboard under the bed (the mattress hinges up to gain access)
There are bath sheets and hand towels in the built-in cupboard in the sitting room
If you hang washing on the balcony lines please use double the amouth of pegs to secure your laundry as it can be pretty windy sometimes
The washing machine is in the bathroom cupboard. The Coton Eco 40c 1200 Rapide is a good setting. Detergent and softener are in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. This takes 1 hour 45 mins and is the shortest setting. Please do not fill the machine more than 3/4 full as it got damaged when it was once filled too full.
We recommend using the local launderette Speed Queen (1 min walk towards the Port on the LHS of Boulevard de Riquier) as they have really quick washing times and different sizes of machines. You don't even need detergent and softener (as it's provided by the machines)
Ironing board behind the right curtain in bedroom (with bungee to attach to wall). Iron in sitting room cupboard.
Please use any items you like in the kitchen (tea, coffee, sugar etc.)
Please replace items such as toliet rolls, bin bags, dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, kitchen items if they happen to run out whilst you are at the apartment
You'll find shopping bags stored next to the cooker (underneath the coffee machine)
Toaster in dining room dresser cupboard
Day to day crockery is above the sink, mugs and glassware above microwave
Sundae glasses, champagne flutes, teacups and teapot, serving dishes and Royal Albert porcelain is in the dining room dresser. Please do not put the Royal Albert porcelain in the microwave.
Its best to leave the dishwasher on setting "3" as some of the faster settings don't clean as well
Please handwash the following items: wine glasses, champagne glasses, sundae glasses and Royal Albert porcelain.
Please wipe down the shower after use so it is quite dry to avoid mould forming on the grout and sealant
The join of the shower doors drips a tiny amount onto the floor so using a bath mat is a good idea
Please feel free to use our shower gels, soaps and shampoo
The bed in the bedroom is a Kingsize
The sofabed is a Kingsize bed
There are a double and a single airbed stored in the cupboard under the bed (together with plug-in air pump)
There are plenty of extra pillows and duvets under the bed
The street outside can be noisy at night with street cleaners and rubbish collections so its best to sleep with the doors shut and use the fans or air conditioning for comfort. We find it good to put the smaller fan on one of the side tables at the base of the bed.
There is a half-circular parasol that can be used to shield the table and chairs from the pigeons. You'll find it under the sofabed. Please ensure it is secure and that you tie the red ribbons to the cable tie loops on the shutter doors (see photo)
Unfortunately we get pigeon droppings on the balconies.
If you wish to clean the balcony there is a mophead and bristle brushhead under the kitchen sink which we only use for the balcony. The handle for the bristle brush and the handle for the balcony mophead is in the built-in cupboard in the sitting room.
There are some yellow seat cushions for the iron balcony chairs (which can be found by the sofa)
There are mobile air conditioning units in the bedroom and the dining area
They need venting externally. There are catflaps to push the exhaust pipes through
We like to shut the bedroom door and leave the unit on for 30 minutes before we go to bed. It is very effective (but a little too loud to sleep whilst it is on). The instructions can be found in the left-hand drawer of the unit in the sitting room.
Recycle bins are found across Bld de Riquier on the other side of Carrefour City on Rue Barberis
We use the two wicker baskets on the kitchen floor to store our recycling
Paper is recycled in the brown bin
Glass is recycled in the green bin
Plastics/cartons/tin/cardboard are recycled in the yellow bin
Food waste is not recycled in Nice
Landfill waste is left in the wheelie bin of the apartment block that is left outside the main door every Tues, Weds, Fri & Sun (after 6pm)
Heaters - The apartment has electric heaters. Please turn them on when needed and remember to turn off afterwards.
In the apartment use settings Comfort for daytime, Economy for nightime. Turn the two right hand dials for heating level. A central red light shows it is heating.
Bathroom - press Marche/Arret to turn on or off (A red light shows it is heating) Turn the dial for heating level. Marche forcée turns on a heater fan. Please switch off when not in the bathroom to conserve electricity.
There is a mobile WIFI unit located by a plug socket in the dining room and will need turning on by holding the big central button. It is ready when there are 3 green lights lit. The WIFI is Garner Shipp WIFI, the user: Admin and password: lovelyAmber. To initiate the WIFI it is sometimes necessary to visit http://192.168.8.1/html/home.html
If the mobile WIFI unit stops working press the button on the front of it for a couple of seconds.
The TV is used via the Playstation 4 (streaming services) - it is not currently connected to an aerial. The PS4 can be controlled either by the small remote control or the PS4 game controller (which is in the left-hand drawer in the sitting room sideboard). It can be used as a DVD/Blue Ray player and you are also welcome to play some of the games. DVDs and PS4 games are in the small bookcase in the alcove.
The Sony sound system can be paired to your BlueTooth devices by pressing the "menu" button on the remote control when the "BT Device" function is selected on the system.
There is a good, small supermarket opposite the flat and slightly left on Boulevard de Riquier. A fantastic, huge Carrefour and shopping mall can be found just north of the flat on BD General Louis Delfino.
Please feel welcome to use the beach mats which can be found in the bedroom cupboard. Please also feel free to use the 2 big beach towels on the shelf in the bedroom cupboard.
Take a look at the Guest Book (in the hall) and visit Nice Info for suggestions and ideas of places to eat or go
You can only park for free in Nice where there are no paint markings on the road.
Please get in touch with us if there are any issues in the apartment or if you lock yourself out.
