Registration
2024 Registration opens January 5, 2024
Please use this guide to assist you in the registration process. Please also note the following registration deadlines and fees for 2024:
Regular Registration Fee: $40 per student until Friday, January 26, 2024
Late Registration Fee: $50 per student between Saturday, January 27 and Friday, February 2, 2024
See the Important Dates page for complete competition and submission deadlines.
Why Are There Three Registration Forms?
Teachers/coaches use the school registration spreadsheets to register projects from their school. We use that information for all aspects of contest management (judging, programs, awards, etc.). Teachers/coaches must also provide billing information for their school so that SDCOE can receive payments. Students register themselves so that we have waivers and permission forms for each student participating. A student can NOT compete without completing their student registration form.
A school is considered fully registered when all students have registered themselves, and the teacher/coach has completed BOTH the School Project form and the Billing Information form.
2024 Updates and Reminders
New for 2024: SDCOE will be handling billing and the student registration process for 2024.
New for 2024: Historical Papers only compete at the State competition.
A school may have only 5 entries per category, with an individual category and a group category each counting as a type of category. For example, a school could have 5 Junior Group Websites and 5 Junior Individual Websites. This school could also enter 5 Senior Group Websites and 5 Senior Individual Websites as well.
New schools may register up to 10 students for free. All forms for those 10 still need to be submitted.
