National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, (NGMA) is pleased to announce the launch of SOHAM which is the First Cultural Media Platform of the country under the banner of National Gallery of Modern Art.
This platform is not parallel forum to the current Social Medias. It is one of its kind. It is a platform for all interested about art and those practicing art to develop a dialogue with NGMA.
Aiming to build a wider interactive platform for all the voices, we put forth the NGMA’s ‘SoHam’ platform and wish to generate a wider and a stronger connection between NGMA and the artists, art critics, scholars, historians and practitioners from all professions who cherish art across the universe. SoHam is an attempt to connect to the universe of art and beyond.
“So’Ham”, the Cultural Media is to cater to millions of artists, art lovers and those who feels at home with arts, yet somehow feels not included to the world of art on a daily basis, from anywhere on the earth.
“So’Ham” Symbolism is “Universal Self (Paramahamsa) Reflected as Individual Self (Hamsa) in all of us. So’Ham thus means “He I (am) or I am He”.
The naming bears impressions of intense brainstorming sessions which went on for months as it was decided from the very first day that `The name should have Indian flavour as well as descriptive to its aim, which is – “Indian name, rooted to its rich past”, in order to bring bigger, wider and grass root participation.
With this nomenclature there is an effort to include anyone with a sense of art under one common platform of ‘Cultural Media for Art’, where one is connected to many and vice versa. Everyone is equal and sharing a common platform expressing relationship with art, being related to art or simply observing art.
This Cultural Media Platform “So’Ham” is dedicated to you all.
