Statement of disclosure under Section 4 of The Right To Information Act, 2005.

National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is a subordinate office of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi, located in Jaipur House, India Gate, New Delhi. Statement of suo motu disclosure under Section 4 of the RTI Act, 2005 is hereby given as far as possible for general information accessible to public. 

Disclosures under Section 4(b) -

Organization particulars, functions and duties: Preservation and promotion of modern art as depicted on the website under the TAB History and About.

Powers and duties of officers and employees: Officers and employees have to discharge their duties in accordance with the vision and mission of NGMA to preserve and promote the modern art and work incessantly to keep the NGMA as going and growing organization.

Procedure followed in decision making process, channels of supervision and accountability: NGMA follows all the applicable manuals of rules and regulations notified by the Government of India like GFR 2017, Manual of office procedure, DOPT orders etc. in the decision-making process which is supervised by the established hierarchy of senior officers. Every officer is accountable for the decisions taken under the relevant provision of CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964.

Norms set for discharge of its functions: As defined in manuals and handbooks noted above.

Statement of categories of documents held by NGMA:  A collection of modern art of about 17039 paintings, sculptures etc. are among those which are exhibited in the gallery of New Wing and Jaipur House at India Gate, New Delhi, as per available display area.

Particulars of any arrangements existing for consultation with members of public for formulation of policy or implementation thereof: As per directions of the Govt as may be received from time to time.
