π Join the 4-H No-Carve Pumpkin Decorating / Disguise-a-Pumpkin Contest!
Get creative and show off your pumpkin decorating skills, no carving required! This fun, you-choose activity is open to all Newton County 4-H youth! Participating in the contest will earn you 30 involved incentive points! Bring your decorated pumpkins to the 4-H office by 5:00 PM on September 30th.
Prizes will be awarded to all participants, and selected pumpkins will be displayed in the 4-H Office during National 4-H Week!Β
π Fall Break Fun with Newton County 4-H (Grades 4-12)
Fall Break is almost here, and Newton County 4-H is ready to make it unforgettable! Whether you're looking to learn something new, get outside, or just have a blast with friends, we've got something for everyone. From hands-on workshops and service projects to outdoor adventures and creative challenges, this week is packed with opportunities to grow, explore, and connect. Pickup and drop-off for all events will be at the Newton County 4-H office.

Weβre headed to the iconic Rock Eagle 4-H Center for the annual Cloverleaf Conference, and you wonβt want to miss it! This exciting event is packed with hands-on workshops, games, and pizza! Itβs a perfect way to learn, grow, and meet new friends!

Ready to make a difference? Join us for GO GIVE! Community Service Day, where Newton County 4-Hβers come together to give back in big ways! Weβll spend the day volunteering across the county, helping local organizations, completing service projects, and spreading kindness wherever we go.

π Calling All Junior & Senior (Grades 7-12) 4-Hβers!
Are you working on your District Project Achievement portfolio? Join us for an upcoming Portfolio Workday (by appointment), a focused, hands-on session where youβll get expert help organizing your project, polishing your content, and making sure your portfolio shines! Whether you're just getting started or putting on the final touches, this is a great opportunity to get support, ask questions, and make real progress.
π£ Teach a Workshop at Cloverleaf Conference! (Grades 9-12)
Are you interested in sharing your skills and knowledge with younger 4-H'ers?
Apply to teach a workshop at Cloverleaf Conference for 4th-6th-grade participants! This is an excellent leadership experience and a great addition to your portfolio.
If selected, you will teach four 20-minute sessions to groups of up to 20 Cloverleaf 4-H members. Workshops should be interactive and include a hands-on component that actively engages youth in the learning process.
You are welcome to co-teach with other Senior 4-H'ers from Newton County. While the Newton County 4-H Office may be able to assist with supplies, workshop instructors should be prepared to provide any necessary materials if funds are unavailable.
This is your chance to inspire younger 4-H'ers while developing your teaching, communication, and leadership skills! πβ¨

Homeschool Council (PreK-12th Grade)
The Newton County 4-H Homeschool Council is a dynamic group of homeschool youth who meet once a month. Whether you're new to 4-H or a returning member, the Homeschool Council is a great way to get involved, make friends, and grow!

π€ Community Service Opportunity: Help Stock the Community Food Pantry! (Grades 5-Adult)
Looking for a meaningful way to give back? The Community Food Pantry is seeking volunteers to help unload, sort, pack, and store a large shipment of non-perishable food that will help serve families throughout Newton County. This is a great opportunity to earn service hours while making a direct impact on families across Newton County. Volunteers will help organize food donations so they can be distributed efficiently to those in need.
π Tentative Date: Saturday, October 10 (Fall Break)
β οΈ Please note that this date is still tentative as the pantry is awaiting final confirmation from the school system. Additional details will be shared as they become available.
π Location: Community Food Pantry, 7125 Turner Lake Circle, Covington
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family Volunteer Opportunity: This is a community service opportunity for families to participate in together. Please note that this is not a 4-H-sponsored event, and Newton County 4-H staff may or may not be in attendance. Families are responsible for their own transportation and supervision during the event.
β Service logs can be signed during the event for youth needing volunteer hour documentation.

π Georgia 4-H Holiday Card Contest
Calling all artists! The Georgia 4-H Foundation is now collecting designs for the 2026 December holiday card! The winning design will be featured on the holiday card sent to Georgia 4-H supporters, and the top prize is $100!

π Join the 4-H Celebration Cake Box Donation Drive!
Help spread joy in our community, because everyone deserves to celebrate life's special moments! Newton County 4-H is partnering with a local food bank to provide Celebration Cake Boxes that help families celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, accomplishments, and everyday victories.
We encourage every Newton County 4-H family to build and donate at least one complete Celebration Cake Box. A single box can help create a meaningful celebration for a family who may not otherwise have the opportunity. By working together, Newton County 4-H can make a big impact and bring a little extra joy to our community.
Hard times shouldn't prevent families from celebrating life's milestones. Thank you for helping us make more celebrations possible, one cake box at a time! Every 4-H'er in a family that donates a completed Celebration Cake Box will earn 5 Involved Incentive Points. ππ°π
Completed Celebration Cake Boxes are due by October 24th.
π¦Έ Apply to Be a Teen Leader at 4-H Junior Conference (Grades 9-12)
Georgia 4-H is seeking Teen Leader II Certified high school-aged 4-H'ers to serve in key leadership roles at Junior Conference! Teen Leaders are essential to making the weekend a success by leading workshops, facilitating community service projects, and guiding recreation activities for younger 4-H members. It's also an excellent opportunity to build leadership skills, strengthen your portfolio, and make a lasting impact.
Teen Leaders must commit to the entire weekend, as they will have responsibilities beyond their assigned role. Applicants may only apply for one Teen Leader position.
π Teen Leader Roles Include:
Workshop Instructor: Teach a prepared leadership workshop four times throughout the weekend.
Recreation Leader: Lead recreational activities based on your experience and interests.
Community Service Leader: Plan and lead a meaningful service project. Selected leaders may receive reimbursement of up to $25 for approved supplies with receipts.
π²Teen Leader Registration: $25.00 per participant
Includes Saturday lunch and dinner, lodging, and Sunday breakfast.
π Event Date: November 14-15, 2026, at Rock Eagle 4-H Center.
π Application Deadline: Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 5:00 PM
