Georgia AG Week Photo Contest
Georgia Agriculture Awareness Week (March 23-29) is here, and the fun is underway! Submissions for the 2026 Ag Week Photo Contest are being accepted! Last year, Newton County 4-Her, Madalyn Giles, won the Youth Photography division with her photo, Ruby Eyes.
$4 for 4-H: April 1-4, 2026
In a friendly competition with other Georgia counties, Newton County 4-H asks supporters to make donations of $4 or more between April 1-4 during the “$4 for 4-H” giving initiative. This annual tradition raises money to directly fund county 4-H programming through the Georgia 4-H Foundation.
Our 2026 Newton County 4‑H goal is BIG! We’re aiming to raise $4 from 444 donors! And when we hit that goal, we’ll have raised $1,776!
Citizenship is a core pillar of Georgia 4‑H, and 1776 marks the year America was founded. This year, our nation celebrates its 250th birthday, and what better way to honor that milestone than by rallying our community to support the future leaders of America by donating to Newton County 4‑H?
Those interested in donating can find the giving form at www.georgia4h.org/four. The form includes a field to designate gifts to a specific Georgia county, district, or 4-H center. To make sure your donation benefits local 4-H’ers, select Newton County while donating.
Join the celebration, spark some patriotism, and help us reach 444 donors!

Project Areas, Portfolios & Paw-sibilates (Grades 6-11)
Get ready for a day that’s equal parts future‑focused and fur‑filled! Whether you’re brand new to 4‑H portfolios or are already levelling up your project work, this event is designed to help you shine.
First, we’ll kick things off with a fun and interactive Portfolio Information & Planning Session. You’ll learn what goes into a standout 4‑H portfolio, explore ideas for your project focus area, and start mapping out your goals for the year.
Then… we’re heading out for an unforgettable visit to Walking Home Together: A Dog Rescue! 🐾
You’ll meet the inspiring rescue owner, hear how she got her start, and see what it really takes to run a lifesaving animal organization. After the tour, we’ll jump in to help by:
Cleaning & organizing spaces
Assisting with small tasks around the rescue
And of course… spending time playing with the dogs! 🐶💚
If you love helping others, want hands-on service hours, or just enjoy learning new things surrounded by four-legged friends, this is the perfect day for you!
