Whether you're a rookie taking your first lap or a returning competitor looking to improve your personal best, this email contains everything you need to get started. Georgia 4-H Junior/Senior District Project Achievement (DPA) is one of the premier leadership and public speaking opportunities offered through 4-H. The DPA process has two parts, or as we like to call it, “two gears”: completing a project portfolio and delivering a project presentation. Youth who successfully complete both parts earn the opportunity to attend the District Project Achievement Weekend at Rock Eagle 4-H Center at no cost.

In Newton County 4-H, we use a racing theme to help motivate and track participants throughout the DPA journey. Youth will work through a series of Pit Stop Checkpoints designed to keep portfolios on track and prepare them for success. New this year, Newton County 4-H is competing against Forsyth County 4-H for the Junior/Senior DPA Cup! Every participant can help our county race toward victory by completing Pit Stop Checkpoints and staying engaged throughout the DPA season. Start your engines and join us for the ride! 🏁🍀🏆

Portfolio Workday is a dedicated hands-on work session designed to help youth make significant progress on their 4-H portfolios. Participants should come prepared to work, bring any portfolio materials they have already completed, and arrive with questions about sections they find challenging.

By using their time wisely, youth can expect to leave the workday with most of their portfolio completed and organized. The only major updates remaining should be adding activities, events, and accomplishments that occur between October and December. This is a great opportunity to receive guidance and feedback, get ahead on pit stop submissions, and build confidence in preparing a strong portfolio before the final submission deadline.
