Throughout the eighteen years of mandatory education, it becomes a journey in which many drop off before reaching the final destination. In the history of IENH it is not different; many of our former classmates have transitioned to other schools, thereby losing the bond they once shared with IENH. It is an astonishing achievement to remain with the same school for eighteen years, a remarkable demonstration of loyalty. Therefore, we reached out to the ones who stood aside us during these years, and recollected their favorite memories.
There are 25 in total, 8 from Pindorama and 17 from Oswaldo Cruz, and here are the names: Bruno Huf, Pedro Venites, Vitor Ludwig, Felipe Morschbacher, Isabella Dhein, Isabella Brenner, Arthur Rysdyk, Enzo Neumann, Bruno Hofstatter, Eduardo Lampert, Eduardo Torres, Enzo Sperb, Giulia Ventre, João Vitor Hennemann, Marina Boeiro, Giovanna Wallau, Manuela Schmitz, Rafaela Lehnen, Vittorio Posada, Vinicius Broilo, Nicolas Schein, Mateus Kreuz, Isadora Piccoli, Mabel Panozzo.
One of the students who remained is Arthur Rysdyk, coming from Pindorama, he joined the institution in level 2 and has been with it since then. In an interview with us he recalled some of his core memories from that time:
“One of my earliest memories was a slumber party we had in school. I was terrified since it was my first time sleeping away from home, but it turned out to be super fun. I also recall the trip we made to Missões, staying in a hotel room with my friends was an amazing experience. But the best memory was English camp for sure! We did so many thrilling activities like zipline, wild camping and lacrosse.”
To provide another perspective on the lasting impact of these shared experiences, we also spoke with Rafaela Lehnen, who attended Oswaldo Cruz for her entire school journey.
"The chance to meet such wonderful people along the way is something I’ll cherish the most. These individuals made a significant impact on my life and will forever hold a place in my heart because they were the ones I grew up with and shared my experiences. I will remember them with great affection."
As these memories remind us that school is much more than just a place for learning, it is a space where lifelong friendships are made, and moments that shape our character are created. For those who have stayed with IENH throughout their entire educational journey, such as Arthur and Rafaela, the school has become almost like a second home, a constant presence in their lives, surrounded by special people and unforgettable experiences. Their memories are a testament to the importance of shared experiences and the connections built over the years, reflecting the lasting impact of their time at IENH. As they move forward, these bonds and experiences will remain a meaningful part of their lives.

On December 12 of 2016, the 4th grade of Pindorama participated in a closing ceremony of the project “Cozinha que me inspira”, which involved many activities during its course, leading to a breathtaking finale, with music, videos of the students cooking and certificates. Also, small cooking hats were given, as a record of this whole project. The student, Henri Cansi, said that:
“It was a very important experience for me at that age, as it was the first time I had done something on my own in the kitchen, and when I received the certificate I was excited about the result of the project as a whole.”
On its course, there were some activities focused on healthy eating and restaurant visits, both simple and remarkable, such as the time some 4th graders stole the tomatoes from the restaurant they were visiting. However, one of its tasks stood out, as it involved the production of a cooking video by the students, in which they taught a family recipe by themselves. Each student produced the video at home, and it was later edited at school during Technology Education classes, guided by teachers Jaqueline Grassmann and Fernanda Gehlen Eckhard.
As expected, many of the videos turned into inside jokes, being a funny reminder of our childhood. That can be seen in Enzo Neumann response, in which he said that it aged well, since it became a very funny video, all due to his sincerity as a child and the way he reacted to his outstanding popcorn.

A fashion show was the result of a project by the 7th-grade G and H, which focused on fast fashion. After watching the documentary The True Cost, the students reflected on clothing waste and subsequently participated in a t-shirt customization activity aimed at extending the life of their garments. The show took place on November 28th.
Initially, guided by Teacher Giani Elise Mombach in their Global Perspectives class, the students explored the impact of the fashion industry’s production and consumption patterns, where products are quickly made, used, and discarded. Following this, in Art class, Teacher Cristina Zeni challenged them to customize a t-shirt they no longer liked or were unused.
Throughout the project, the students applied various techniques, mostly being tie-dye, to breathe new life into their clothes. After, the project turned into a fashion show where the customized t-shirts were displayed, and two standout designs were selected, being from Mabel Panozzo (7G) and Bruno Huf (7H). The student Mabel said that: “It was an honor to have won, although I think there were works as good as mine. I'm happy and it was a very good experience.”
Moreover, the fashion show featured students from class 7G, including João Vitor Hennemann, Pedro Venites Gerhardt, Vitor Ludwig Pereira, Letícia Fúculo, Marina Smolinski, and Rafaela Lehnen. Representing class 7H were Eduardo Lampert Filho, Guilherme Fuga Port, Vittorio Posada, Manuela Barbosa Schmitz, Laura de Sá Lovison, and Laura Kruse Frasson.

During the year of 2023, the students of the second grade of high school went with their Biology teachers to Torres on an educational trip.
Praia da Guarita and the Mampituba River, in Torres, were objects of study by the 2nd grade classes of the New High School at IENH. The students traveled to the city on May 25th, together with their biology teachers Ailim Schwambach and Ana Paula Müller Machado.
The objective of the trip was for them to observe molluscs and crustaceans, while verifying practices involving environmental education and sustainability on the coast of Rio Grande do Sul. Moreover, the 2nd grade was also responsible for collecting samples, such as dead molluscs, to further analyze them in class.
However, as it was the only long trip the class ever made during high school, things took a different approach as the students focused more on enjoying their time in Torres instead of listening to their teachers.
Despite all the discussions, even the teachers started to have fun, mainly during the return to Novo Hamburgo, at night, when the bus was filled with music and laughter after an exhausting day under the sun.
"It was the most enjoyable trip I had, I had a lot of fun while we were on it, playing music on the bus and seeing teacher Ailim dancing Capoeira with Nicolas, that is something we will keep in our memories. I felt like Manoel Gomes as everybody was laughing and enjoying my music on the bus, everything was expectacular."
"It was a unique experience, very fun. It was my first trip to the beach with the gang. I had never danced capoeira before, but with teacher Ailim I was able to have experience in this sport since she knew how. We had a lot of fun at the Maquiné snack bar and then continued our trip to the beach where I really enjoyed it."

A day of immersion on the English language was organized for the 4th grade students on the 5th of december of 2016. It took place in Quinta da Estância, Viamão.
The students were with the English teacher Maria de Fátima Gonçalves and assistant Bárbara Schmitz. They participated in various interactive activities, such as mud baths, two tracks, thematic playgrounds and visitation to different places on the facility.
This event lasted for a whole day, being a new experience for the students. The most awaited moment of the trip was the track during the night, which had everyone expectations high. However, the track had to be canceled due to a group of girls getting frightned as some of the boys woukd not stop talking about how they would have to run from monsters.
Despite the heartbraking news of the night track being canceled, it was a day to remember with all the fun activities they provided there.

On the 25th of November 2018, the students of both Pindorama and Oswaldo Cruz went on a school provided learning trip to a camp in São Paulo. The trip lasted for 4 days and during its duration the students were provided with various fun activities such as treasure hunts, football, pool day and ziplining along with separate dorms based on gender and school and free daily meals.
The main objective of the trip was to improve the students' English, seeing as it was the only allowed language, that turned out to be a great exercise for the students and their language skills.
To further acknowledge the trip we presented multiple participants with the different questions each: How did you feel about the trip, did you enjoy it?
Bruno Hoffstater: “I enjoyed it a lot, it was very good to spend quality times with old and new friends alike”
Which was your favorite of the practiced activities?
João Pedro Maliska: “Everything was very fun, but my favorite was definitely ziplining”
Do you think it helped you improve your English capabilities?
Isabella Dhein: “It definitely, especially since we were challenged to only speak english during the whole trip”
Huge thanks to all of the interviewed members for collaborating.

The Black Dragons team has had a long and glorious history regarding their unforgettable performances for the school’s gymkhana. With their unbreakable bond and a lot of creativity, not even the two years of pandemic were able to slow down their winning streak.
When it comes to the beloved Dancing in the Courts (or Dança nas Quadras) the group’s journey began in 7th grade, when their adorable performance of Baby by Justin Bieber, protagonized by Eduardo Lampert, achieved 3rd place — on their very first choreography. Only a sample of the bright future there was to come.
Although the 2020 Covid pandemic deprived the group of two years of experience, they came back even more excited to prove their talent. In their 1st year of highschool, the theme chosen by GECA, the student union, was decades. The Black Dragons chose the song Everybody by the Backstreet Boys to represent the ‘90s decade and achieved 3rd place as well.
In their 2nd year of highschool their luck changed when they chose their wonderful dancer Rafaela Lehnen to portray the lead in the choreography to the Glee cover of Lady Gaga’s Americano and Jennifer Lopez’s Dance Again. It was their first time winning the Dancing in the Courts competition, but certainly not the last.
To wrap up their beautiful journey and prove their competence when it comes to showing off their talents, the Black Dragons’ last choreography was also led by Rafaela, this time portraying Lady Gaga herself in a cathartic performance of Bad Romance. Bringing various members of the audience to tears, they accomplished another win, leaving their legacy to be looked upon by the next groups to come.
It was at the most awaited event of the year, Fundashow, that their ability to put on a show was really proved. As well as Dancing in the Courts, the Black Dragons are also the most awaited group to perform in Fundashow, as they have attested their incomparable quality and passion in all their years of journey.
In their first year in the institution, the theme of the presentation was Broadway, and their group was chosen to recreate Wicked. Unfortunately, Glinda and Elphaba were not enough to guarantee a great score, leaving them in 5th place. Still, not bad for their first try.
Just as the Dancing in the Courts competition, the pandemic also affected the group in Fundashow. In 2020 the school exhibited an online compilation of past presentations, and the following year was marked by the High School Musical adaptations, which they gave up on.
However, it all took a turn in their 1st year of High School, when the Black Dragons’ performance of Camp Rock got them 3rd place. With live singing, and the embodiment of Joe Jonas by Eduardo Lampert, and Demi Lovato by Ana Laura Rabelo, their well deserved medal was only the beginning of their glory.
Their absolute prime was the jaw-dropping La La Land adaptation. A perfect mix of colors, music, live music, and even tap dancing, left the audience speechless. Rafaela Lehnen and Eduardo Lampert portraying the leads once more, their partnership and compatibility in both dancing and acting was incomparable. The emotional presentation by Felipe Morschbacher, who played Mia and Sebastian’s Theme with excellence, and the performance of City of Stars by Ana Laura Rabelo and Kauã Flach impressed the judges, who really enjoyed their talent and creativity.
And of course, it shouldn’t be forgotten that none of that would be possible, had the group not worked together, as a united team. The outstanding choreographies that improved every year were a complete product of the joined minds of the incredibly talented girls from both the senior classes. Names like Giovanna Wallau, Rafaela Lehnen, Bella Luvizon and Marina Grangeiro have been present in the creative processes of all the choreographies above.
In the year of 2024, the Black Dragons are going to graduate High School, leaving behind their many memories, and the influence on the young ones. Their last performance on Fundashow will be on October 23. They will recreate the Aladdin musical led by Eduardo Lampert, Giovanna Wallau and Rafaela Lehnen, and the presentation is sure to be moving. Even if they don’t take first place, they’ve surely already left their mark on Fundação Evangélica, and will be greatly missed by teachers, staff, and classmates.

"Dia D" is an exciting tradition at IENH in which third graders get creative with themed dress-up days of their own choosing. On these special days, students attend their regular classes but enjoy a fun break to showcase their costumes and take cool photos. So far, the 2024 third graders have celebrated three "Dia D" events, with many more to come.
The first "Dia D" was held on March 27th, with the theme of dressing up as characters whose names start with the same letter as the student’s own name. For instance, Enzo came as Elsa from Frozen, Bruno as SpongeBob SquarePants, and Victor as Vector from Despicable Me.
“Because it was the first 'Dia D' and I didn't know what it was going to be like, I was a bit nervous and skeptical about it, but when I got here, the experience was super fun!” said Isabella Dhein.
The second "Dia D," on May 20th, saw students embrace a cozy winter by attending school in their pajamas.
“This was my favorite theme! Super cozy, I just woke up and came to school,” said Leticia Morbene.
On July 11th, the theme was "Fashion Enemies," and students went all out by dressing in the most humorous outfits they could imagine.
“This was by far the funniest one; I laughed a lot seeing my friends dressed ridiculously.” said Rafaela Lehnen.
Looking ahead, the upcoming "Dia D" themes are "Groups" on September 24th, in which students will coordinate their costumes in creative groups, and "Childhood" on November 8th, when they’ll dress as iconic characters from their early years.
“I hope the next ‘Dias D’ is as exciting as the last ones. I loved coming to school dressed wildly,” said Caetano Cardoso.
"Dia D" is truly special, as it creates unforgettable memories for the students and stands out as a loved and unique moment.
