The school’s theater group, “Não Temos Nome Ainda,” is set to captivate audiences this fall with their latest production, “Vozes do Passado.” The play explores the rich and complex histories of German immigration, which have deeply influenced the city and the southern region. After a highly anticipated premiere in September at ATESE, the production will continue its run in October at IENH.
“Vozes do Passado” is more than just a performance — it’s a reflection on the roots that have shaped the community. According to the cast member Isadora, “The play is of great importance for showcasing our origins with pride and highlighting the social issues and demands faced by our ancestors.” The piece dives into dramatic and romantic elements while offering an immersive look into the characters' experiences.
Rafaela, another member of the ensemble, emphasized the significance of remembering the legacy of those who came before. “It’s the story of a people who came here with nothing, faced numerous challenges, and built a life. It’s important not to forget what they went through,” she said. Her passion for the story shines through as she brings her favorite character to life on stage.
The decision to center the play around the theme of immigration was inspired by the 200th anniversary of German immigration, at the suggestion of the school’s director, SCeno Leonhardt. The story is inspired by the lives of a couple, whose experiences serve as a foundation for the play’s exploration of cultural and social dynamics, written by the group'sgroups leader, Teacher Fábio.
For the professor leading the group, the play offers a unique opportunity to present history from a different perspective. “This isn’t just a chronological recounting of events. We’ve created a fictional story that weaves in aspects of the German immigration experience. It’s an engaging, emotional production that invites the audience to get lost in the journey,” he explained.
The cast and crew believe that “Vozes do Passado” is a must-see for IENH students and the broader community. As Isadora pointed out, the school is deeply connected to the history of immigration, and many students have family ties to this legacy. “It’s really cool for them to see how it all happened,” she said.
Rafaela added that the play has something for everyone. “It’s full of drama, romance, family dynamics, and lots of engaging stories. If you love a good story with plenty of twists, this play is perfect for you.”
The professor echoed this sentiment, noting that the play offers a fresh perspective on a familiar history. “It’s a different way of looking at the story of German immigration, and I think it’s important for everyone to experience that.”
As the premiere approaches, excitement is building among the cast, crew, and potential audiences. “Vozes do Passado” promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience that not only entertains but also educates and inspires. Don’t miss the chance to witness this powerful production and reflect on the voices of the past that continue to resonate today.

Between August 26th and 30th, 2024, the Science, Arts and Technology fair (CIARTEC) from IENH took place, in which students had the opportunity to present their research and scientific talents. In addition to presenting their work, the students also participated in various activities such as conversations with professionals from different areas, visiting the planetarium, visiting the art exhibition and also watching a presentation on the evolution of cinema, made by the third year students, presenting movies such as Maleficent, Harry Potter, Teen Beach Movie and High School Musical.
At the science fair, students from the 6th to the 3rd grade of high school could participate, we had a lot of research on the most varied topics. Isadora Piccoli, a student from 3th grade A, presented her project on the scientific fair last year (2023), winning an opportunity to show her work in Peru, that according to her was "an unforgettable experience to take her knowledge to another country and it is very rewarding to be benefited with a new culture, taking the chance to meet new people, talking a different language and learning rich contents in the middle of the scientific fair." In this year (2024), she also presented in the event, and we asked what were her expectations and what was it like to relive this experience again, Isadora said: “I am very happy to be able to go through this experience with the Ciartec fair again, only this time with the project at a much more advanced stage and after a year of learning about research and science. It is a very different experience from the last time. My expectations in general are always very good because I learn a lot more about my work and research in general. The Ciartec awards are still to come, but I have a good feeling for 9/11”. As we can see Isadora is very committed to the presentation and we hope that her work can be seen by a lot of people.

Official opening of the XVIII CIARTEC week at IENH.
At the last event of CIARTEC Week at IENH, the Spanish Language Show was a vibrant celebration of film and art history. The event was meticulously planned to offer a rich and engaging cultural experience, with active participation of students in various presentations and activities.
Contextualization:
The reception of the groups was led by the guide João Vitor Henneman, who began the event with a talk about the history of cinema, highlighting figures such as Charles Chaplin. Student Arthur Lutz played Chaplin in the iconic fork-dancing scene, accompanied by music performed by Bianca. Then, Lucas Closs, a 9th grade student, was invited to play the role of Mazzaropi, bringing to light the importance of Mazzaropi in Brazilian cinema, while Isadora Piccoli offered a glimpse into his trajectory.
Interview with Lucas Closs:
How was your experience playing Mazzaropi?
"I really enjoyed the experience of playing Mazzaropi and his character Jeca in the Spanish language show . It was a special moment to show the richness of Brazilian culture, and also challenged me to play the greatest character in our culture, Jeca. The simplicity and humor of the character captivated the audience, and the interaction with people and cultural exchange also made this experience even more rewarding and enriching."
Opening:
The opening of the event was marked by an energetic dance performance inspired by the movie Teen Beach Movie, performed by students from class 3A. After the initial reception, the students headed to the conference room, where the performance not only shone with the interpretations of Caetano and Gabriel Soccol, but also set a positive and energetic tone for the rest of the event.
Interview with Caetano (played Brady in Teen Beach Movie):
How was for you the construction of the dance and interpretation of the character?
"I did not participate much in the creation of the dance, but from what I saw, I found very cool the interaction of the staff to bring entertainment for those who would watch. And about participating, I had never acted before, so it was quite challenging to put the soul of the movie character on stage."
How did you feel about the focus on the opening number?
"On the second question: I never acted as a character and much less as a main focus, so I was very excited when I volunteered to participate as a focus on stage. However, it was very exciting because I could share the goal of being the principal role with my friend Gabriel Soccol, which reassured me. Overall, I did my best and managed to get the emotion I wanted out into the audience."
Interview with Soccol (played Butchy):
For you as an artist, how was it to show your skill in this project and how was the construction for the interpretation of the main character?
"For me, theater and dance have a great influence on my life, and when I knew we were going to present a scene of the Teen Beach Movie, I offered myself to participate immediately. The girls who did the choreography were amazing; it was very well done and easy to learn, which made my character easier to interpret, allowing me to devote myself more in that aspect."
How did you feel about the focus on the opening number?
"As one of the main characters, I got a lot of attention in my scenes, which sometimes made me a little nervous. However, this did not hinder the presentation; in fact, it gave me more motivation to devote myself even more when presenting."
Sketches:
The event was followed by a series of sketches produced by the students, which included scenes from popular films in Spanish. The sketches presented were: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Maleficent, Harry Potter and Queen. Each sketch was a demonstration of the students' creativity and talent, bringing elements from the films to life in a dynamic and engaging way.

Closing:
The event was closed with a vibrant dance performance by class 3B students, who performed High School Musical. This final performance not only celebrated the success of the event, but also paid a special tribute to Professor Rita, the organizer of the event. The dance number was a loving way to recognize and thank Rita’s dedication to the artistic and cultural development of the students.
Interview with Jordana Muller (one of the creators of the dance number of High School Musical):
Why High School Musical?
"We were going to do The Lion King, with the idea of creating something more fun and funny. But when we saw that you had chosen a Disney musical film, we immediately thought of High School Musical. In addition to fitting in with this phase of our lives, it was always a childhood dream of mine, because I watched a lot of High School Musical with my sister. It was a dream to live something like this, and in school, all this artistic development is amazing."
How was the idea of honoring the teacher as a guest?
"We had already decided that Rita would be our honored before, so when she presented the idea of CIARTEC fair, we thought about using this moment to honor her. The use of the hat with the letters was an idea that started as a joke and we were developing."
Finally we have the word and description of the teacher Rita Cunha about the event:
"After five years, planning and sharing a little of our classes at the Spanish show at CIARTEC was lovely. Especially because it was a collective construction that involved writing a script interweaving what we studied about cinema with the sketches chosen by the students and the opening and closing musicals. It was also a work that served as one of the crowning moments of the students' journey in school, since they are at the end of their walk in basic education. It was also an opportunity to build more important memories, in addition to all the experience in which they applied autonomy, time management, understanding errors as a way of getting things right, exercising potential, among so many other skills and knowledge involved. Therefore, I feel very happy and fulfilled with such learning by all involved."
The CIARTEC Spanish Show of the Week was an unforgettable event, filled with inspiring presentations and a spirit of collaboration and cultural celebration. With the contribution of all those involved, it was a true triumph of artistic expression and passion for cinema.

One of the most expected yearly events is the famous“Gincana da Festa Da Família”in which all of the six teams from the 7th to the 3rd grade of high school compete against each other to see who can complete more tasks correctly in order to win the most points to the annual competition. The event consists of a series of tasks to be completed in diverse areas: Arts, sports, objects, street and logic , each of them has a leader tocoordinate the specific tasks of the section ,and the team has two general leaders to guarantee the order and the correct execution of the tasks.
The area of artistics has different activities related to art , such as : dancing, costume making, paintings , crafts, picture recreation and video recordings. This part challenges us to use our creativity, talent, team spirit and different points of view. Nicoly Heylmann, a member of the artistic group, gave us an interview giving her point of view towards the competition. Nicoly describes the participation of the team as more organized and better , the team was more united and dedicated , the variety of tasks was excellent and all of them were very creative including , makeup, dressing up, choreography and taking pictures. She also said that she would like to stay in this area for this year as it is the one she likes the most , mainly regarding comes to the organization of the group, the choreography, the costumes and taking pictures. When it comes to the difficulties of this part, Nicoly said the hardest part of it all is to find people that are willing to do the tasks and to give their best to win the artistics. People usually leave early or are not dedicated, and this has effects on the whole group. And for this year her expectations are high as it is her last year as a student in Fundação and she expects that the team will give their best to win this year again.
In sports , the tasks are diverse , having to run, walk with an egg on a spoon and try not to break it and much more. This section´s main thing is teamwork, the team has to work together as one, having agility, sports spirit and cooperation in order to win. The member of the sports Laura Schmidt stated that last year the activities proposed were not related to sports they were more like ludic games , and in her opinion that was not the ideal , it should have been more sports than games.
There is also logic, that consists of puzzles and riddles to solve, objects , that the goal is to find a very specific object , running that is running and finding objects and , last but not least we have two important general leaders that coordinate everything. As it is the last “gincana” the expectations are high and the wish to win is very strong.
As the end of the year approaches, one of the most anticipated attractions for IENH students is the "Fundashow", in which where all the teams prepare to perform, dance, play and even sing songs from musicals chosen by the school's Student Union.
The excitement they show when participating is contagious to the ones who are everyone watching and unites everyone in a competitive energy and thirst for victory as the end of the annual competition approaches. As a little retrospective, let's remember last year's winners. The theme was "TV Classics" and the musicals chosen were In the Heights, Footloose, Grease, La La Land, Mamma Mia and West Side Story.; Oon At the podium were, Elite came in 3rd place with Mamma Mia, Spartans in 2nd with Grease and Black Dragons in 1st with Lala Land.
We interviewed some students who participated in the organization last year and are participating in some way this year again. Rafaela from class 3third year A, who was the principal at the last Ffundashow, told us that she felt nervous but confident in relation to her team. According to her, everyone was properly prepared and ready to put on the show that everyone was waiting for.
Kaua Flach also appreciated us with his words, according to him he is looking forward to this year and to dedicate himself as much as last year. Last year he also had a great singing role that and was highlighted in the show, for him this was a great achievement for having dedicated himself so much.
It's clear that everyone is very excited for this year's Fundashow, so get your costumes together, prepare your voice and arrange the scene because the best time of the year has already arrived.
