Policy for GDPR Compliance


  1. General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into legislative effect on 25th May 2018, replacing the Data Protection Act 1998 and all sports organisations must be compliant irrespective of their size.

  2. Newport Phoenix CC will abide by these General Data Protection Regulations and will follow the policy and procedures recommended by British Cycling to implement these and ensure that personal data and privacy are both protected and respected whilst complying with the principles of applicable data protection laws.

  3. The following categories of Personal Data will be held by Newport Phoenix CC for the sole purpose of managing the club and its activities :-

    • Name

    • Parent / carer’s name in the case of junior members

    • Address

    • E-mail address

    • Date of birth

    • Telephone / Mobile telephone no.

    • Emergency Contact details

    • Relevant medical details – allergies etc.

    • Blood Group

  4. Such data will be held by Newport Phoenix CC for a period of 5 years unless the club is specifically requested to delete data in individual cases.
