Each semester, your tutors, support staff and student representatives meet to discuss your feedback, and ensure that students' voices are heard and listened to. After each SSCC meeting, the minutes of the meeting are made available, and we summarize how we've listened to and responded to your comment in a 'you said, we did'. You will be able to find the minutes and 'you said, we did' summaries on your Moodle page.

Course representatives are an important part of ensuring that your course is working for all students. Reps are nominated by their fellow students, in a process that is run by the Newman Student Union. Student Union staff will come along to one of your sessions at the start of your academic year, and tell you more about the role.

Run by students, the Newman Student Union hosts events, offers support and runs a range of student societies.

Newman's Sport and Fitness centre is in the Edwards building. There are cardio and resistance training suites, a group cycle studio, sports hall, 3G pitch and squash court.
Each year staff and students work together on projects to explore or improve aspects of our university. Your tutors may well ask for volunteers. Or, if you've got ideas about a project you'd like to work on, then please let your personal tutor know.
