Term 4
It’s been a busy and exciting term for our P5–7 classes! As part of our Developing the Young Workforce (DYW)project, we enjoyed visits from several guest speakers who told us all about different jobs we might like to do when we’re older. We also took fascinating trips to the Folk Museum in Newtonmore to help us learn more about World War II, which we’ve been studying in our Modern History project. We also learned all about working at the Folk Museum. Our outdoor learning sessions have been a big hit too, helping us build great teamwork skills while learning how to care for the environment and enjoy the beauty of nature. In French lessons, we've been practising how to greet people and have simple conversations – très bien! In Health & Wellbeing P5/6/7 are exploring social relationships and considering the importance of positive relationships on emotional well-being.
Term 3
P5/6/7 have been enjoying writing pen pal letters to the USA, whilst incorporating their writing skills within the letters. Along with teaching the younger pupils Ceilidh dancing, learning Gaelic songs in YMI.
The P5/6’s have just delivered an assembly on nurturing and achieving to the full school, which they used excellent examples to ensure age groups understand and explained another SHANARRI indicator.
They are beginning to develop their leadership skills by becoming junior leader in training.
