  • Registration:

Step One: Email us Send us an email via stjohnsmodelun@gmail.com by Friday, September 25, indicating your school will be (virtually) attending our conference. This email should include: 1) The name of your school and faculty moderator(s) 2) The number of students you will bring. Please distinguish between Middle and High School students. An accurate number is required to ensure that we have the proper software for the number of delegates that will be attending, as well as the proper country assignments. You can add or delete students by Monday, October 5 without penalty. After October 5, we ask you to pay for any slots you requested. 3) Any requests you may have for country assignments, committees, the level of difficulty of committees, etc. It is a huge endeavor to place hundreds of students in different committees, so we cannot guarantee your committee, country requests, or that you will get your desired level of committee. But if a particular committee is very important to you or a particular country is especially appealing, please let us know and we will do what we can. **This year there will not be a flat school fee, however, there is a $5 registration fee for each delegate who is planning to attend, so the cost per school is $5 multiplied by the number of delegates. We ask schools to collect the $5 per student and then send one check for the total amount ($5 X your number of students) to: St. John’s High School, 378 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545, attn. Mr. Chuck Abdella. *If you have any questions or obstacles to collecting payment, please reach out to us via stjohnsmodelun@gmail.com Please mail a single check to St. John’s in Shrewsbury with the total fee for all your delegates by Friday, October 16th. We want this virtual conference to be affordable, but we’d appreciate all funds being submitted before the conference. Thank you.

Step Two: Assignments After registration is finalized by October 5th, we will assign countries and committees to your school. We have a goal of sending you this information by October 12th, so your students have two weeks to prepare. However, we need your help. If you hit your deadlines, we are better able to hit our deadlines. To reduce confusion in the transmission of information, this year we will share with you a spreadsheet via Google Drive that contains blank spaces for delegate name, committee, and country. Please be sure that you have our email up to date in your contact lists, as we do not want to be mistaken for spam. Please also be aware that all communication from this point on will be via email. We will send you briefing papers for each committee, and a plethora of other information relevant to the virtual conference and how it will work.

Contact: If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email stjohnsmodelun@gmail.com and either myself or my co-Secretary General Amar Kapoor will answer with any additional information you may need. I am very excited to see everyone, albeit through my computer screen, this October and navigating a never-before-seen MUN landscape with all of you. I thank everyone for their interest and patience regarding SJMUNC this year. I wish everyone the best, Jackson Andrews Co-Secretary General, SJMUNC XXXIII P.S. SJMUN has hit social media!
