Youth Appreciation Dinner

The Youth Appreciation Awards Dinner is held each year on the fourth Tuesday evening in February.

The purpose of these awards is to bring recognition to youth that have demonstrated exemplary behaviour, made positive contributions, and as a result could be considered role models for others. These are individuals who display a positive attitude, strong work ethic, respect and compassion for others, and generally set a good example for their peers.

Please consider looking beyond the top performers, MVP's, etc. (who already receive awards and distinction) to acknowledge those who are deserving but might not otherwise receive recognition.

It is our hope that this recognition will help encourage the recipients and foster similar behaviour in other youth, thus promoting the development of responsible citizens.

While we do not limit nominations strictly to those young people residing in and around New Dundee, we do ask that you consider this when making nominations. If the young person lives in a community served by another Optimist Club (e.g. Ayr, Baden, Mannheim, New Hamburg, Petersburg, Wellesley) it would be appropriate for them to receive recognition at their home community's youth appreciation event. Feel free to contact info@newdundeeoptimists.ca and we will pass on contact information.
