Solar Communities
Solar Communities
The communities that we build for climate refugees will have access to solar power which will not only help reduce cost of living for our residents, but it will also be a source of clean energy that will help in the fight against our ever changing climate. In areas that allow it, we will have solar farms that are near the communities. In other areas where space is not as abundant, we will have roof panels as seen on the picture to the left.Â
Building Materials
The houses that we build will be made of majority sustainable materials like wood alternatives. These materials will help limit the amount of wood that is harvested from forests which helps fight against deforestation. Forests are an important component in the fight against climate change as they are carbon sinks, meaning they filter out a lot of the CO2 in the atmosphere!
Recycling and Composting Programs
Our communities will be set up with recycling bins that are located at each home. It is strongly recommended that residents of our communities take advantage of the recycling as it is an important aspect of sustainability. There will also be community wide composting to help reduce waste and promote a more green way of life.
